Dont worry about the under 30 Hours achievement...

Just thought i'd let you all know not to worry about the under 30 hours achievement, IGN said 30-45 hours storytime gameplay, I wouldn't say that, not even close.

If you play the game effeicently and try not to die then it can easily be done. Also loading save can also recover som lost time rather than keep repeating the mission. Autosave is built in and is really handy.

I got the game early from a local store that was selling them early. I completed it in under 20 hours full story including a few side missions and I watched all the cutscenes.

Its not that hard so you don't have to fly through all the missions and cutscenes.
60% is about right for the full story give or take.

Yea I got it in 26 hours with some side missions and also just messing around when I 1st got the game.. Also I didnt load saves and kept repeating missions and I watched all the cut scenes.

Theres 94 missions in total.

That's probably taking your time and doing other shit. Killing pedestrians/ doing prostitutes/ getting drunk/ whatever lolz. And most likely side-missions and stuff.

They did say 30 - 45 hours for the storyline but I doubt any of them have even played it that long so there guessing. I really was expecting it to be longer I thought it be playing another 10 hours minimum, i didn't want it to end because theres not that much to do now.

I bet the hidden pidgeons take up 20%. The lack of a lot of side missions is disapointing, I hope the DLC is huge like another island and another 50 missions and extra stuff. Id pay £20 for all that.

Also when people say "Take their time to complete it" how can you Take your time, its GTA I can't get off it. If you play it a lot then you will complete it faster.

I wanted to fly thru the storyline as quick as possible to ensure I got the 30 hour achievement. I took cabs to almost every location and now I'm on the final mission in 15 hours. When I play it all over again I'm gonna take my time as 30 hours seems to be ALOT of time to get this.

I'm gonna take my time through my first playthrough and mess around and stuff...and then on my 2nd playthrough, i'll try to get the 30 hour achievmenet, but I'm not getting this game at Midnight on Monday just for the achievments, i'm getting this game to have fun and enjoy it, not to get achievments, i'll get it in my 2nd playthrough...if I get the achievments, I get them, but i'm not getting the game cause of that and i'm not gonna try and get them...

i dont mind playing the game twice just to pick that one up. im gonna sit there and have my fun playing the game, then worry about achievements after. i just hate to rush through sandbox games as they are my fav. i like to enjoy it to the fullest. so yea, just like everyone else, i cant wait for my copy, 26 hours away for me.

Well it's good to hear that it is not hard to get but I was hoping the single player would take longer for the story. Still not bad though and I'm sure it'll take the 30-45 for the 100% and hopefully more. If I get it on the first playthrough great but if not then I'm more then happy to go back and play it again.

It didn't seem like it would be too difficult, the previous GTAs were never too long and if you just focused on the story and didn't stray far from the main missions, you could cruise through the game at mach speeds.

Not saying it's bad, and I am going to enjoy the game so much more the first time I play it, but the second go round, I'm definitely going for that achievement.

Personally I don't care about this achievement. I don't know why people would want to RUSH through this game the first time they play it, to me it seems like the most stupidest thing. Savour it while you have it, don't rush it and complete it then have nothing to do. :)

Dont forget though dudes, that yeah It may only take 20-25 hours to complete the actual Story missions to give you 60%...BUT, they are still loads of side missions etc to get you to 90% (excluding the hidden packages) so to do all that I could see taking easily 35-45 hours. So IGN are correct in their own way :)

Iv done 33% and iv been just driving around and messing around for alot of the game and im suprised i have only played 19 hours.

I dont want the game to end and will just run through the missions on a 2nd playthrough for that achievement. :)

I'll just play normally the first time through and enjoy it. If I don't get the achievement then I'll start up a second save to burn through quickly - using the weapons cheat for fun if it doesn't block the achievement since cheats only block certain ones.

yep, my friend beat it in 21 hours so theres plenty of time to beat the game.

I'm sure IGN was presuming we're not all GS whores though when they stated 30+ hours to complete the game. I'm certain that folks completing this game in under 20 hours are missing quite a bit of in-game fun.

I wouldn't even touch that achievement until I've done a lot of others first. Hell all I've been doing is MP matches since I got it.

What the fuck, 19 hours? Of course the game is short if you rush through it and only do the missions.

To all you people worried about "only 19 hours", don't. I've played 15 hours and I've only just unlocked the 2nd island at 23%. If you mess around outside of missions and enjoy yourself, the game can easily last 50+ hours.

Thanks for letting us know. I can kind of rush through it which I have the habit of doing anyway and still not risk missing out on the achievement which would be kind of annoying.

Anyway, I have been doing other things and playing mini games etc but I just didnt save :P

Its not disappointing at all. I mean think about it... 20 hours of game time is a long time to be playing a game. I played up to 12% last night and I was playing for about 4 hours or so. That was a LONG time to be siting there playing a game. Further, considering that I ate dinner and went to the bathroom and rapped to jawns on the phone, I was actually in front of the tv for 5 or 6 hours with this game which is longer than we usually spend in front of a tv. 20 hours of game time for most people will translate into a week or more of serious multi-hour gaming sessions dedicated to GTA. How is that a disappointment>? You know you had Halo finished by Thursday
