There is no indication on the box saying it needs an hard drive, Although it says on the back, 1 MB to Save Game. (So just a memory card will do)
You may of bee reading about the thing Rockstar asking all 360's to have a mandatory hard drive, This is because part of the game is stored onto the xbox 360, Which makes the load times faster, Without a hard drive you may see the load times a little slower, But not a drastic slow-down.

No, only the PS3 requires the game to install on the hard drive. To me its definitely worth the wait of installation, considering the in-game load times are shorter for the PS3.

My ques is why haven't you had a Hard Drive? Its a very important thing if you plan on DL the Episodes. Plus for other non GTA stuff.

I haven't gotten around to getting a HDD yet, and I can play online for most things, minus Halo 3 Online Story for some reason.

I think it's silly how MS released a 360 without a hard drive. I think the only reason they did it was to say "look, we have a system cheaper than the Wii".

Some games require that you have an HDD and are capable of downloading updates so you can play online, but not all of them. At leats to my knowledge.

Yeah, but some idiots are easily persuaded by saving £20.

It was an extremely stupid long term decision though. Several recent favorites of mine have been marred by not using the hard drive. A HDD better be standard on their next system or I may not bother.
