I recently bought a 23" Olevia HDMI TV. As soon as I bought it, my roommate who was looking over my shoulder saw that the company had a no return policy. I should win because I am a generally good hearted, yet cheap AV geek. I am currently wired into my projector's M1/DA cable. I have no idea what that is, and have not seen anything on the internets about it other than to buy the conversion kit to component which I did. I own a projector, yes. I have never had a high definition tv. My parents have one downstairs, but i can't use my xbox on it because it is not connected to the internet, thus dosen't have live. My tv is pretty small, Conia. It's also only standard definition. I love playing games with beautiful graphics, like Bioshock, but i know i could be experiencing more. Bioshock just dosen't look the same on a SD tv. My tv is just a tv, with this prize, it could become just what i need to spice up my life. I'm on 360 everyday, it's a poor price to pay for a crappy tv. I should be chosen because I've been searching for ways to up my 360's graphics for the past few months now, and every route has circled back to sticking with component. At first, I went out and bought HDMI not knowing that my 360 (manufacture date 12-5-05) wouldn't support it. So then I researched other options, found VGA and tried that out. Worse than standard A/V. It simply didn't work well with my TV.

Then I saw a review in OXM for this baby and was immediately interested. Now there's a possible solution. :)

I deserve an HDMI conversion kit because I have suffered through the anguish of simple 1080i up-scaled to 1080p for too long. My TV will only do 1080p through the HDMI port, not component. My son, too young to understand why, cries when he sees the dashboard in less than maximum resolution. My original Xbox 360 had to be fixed a month ago, but alas the refurbished replacement also lacked the exquisite sweetness of an HDMI port. My friend from the poorest area of Soviet Moscow won't come over because seeing my setup reminds him of his homeland.

We've got the whole deal set up, a nice big TV and a passable 5.1 system... the only thing that's missing is the wonders of HD. Next gen prides itself constantly on being HD - now i'm not complaining about 720p and the like, but when you have an absolutely unneccesarily gigantic rear-projection screen like i do, those extra lines of proggressive can really come in handy, not to mention the surround sound (which is a great and cheap addition to any home theater guys, hook it up).

But, in truth, my real incentive is that maybe, just maybe, true HD will help me get Niko Bellic laid. So far, no luck. Michelle kept getting hit by cars and Kate... But chicks dig high def right?
