I said country because although I don't like Keith Urban and whatnot, I like folk punk.
Country is the only consistent and definite genre you posted, the other ones would be so obscure that saying I liked rock for example could be taken as liking My Chemical Romance.
To me, seeming to like that band is far worse than seeming to like any country singer.

I picked emo to spite everyone who said not to. Once you've heard Emotional Hardcore music, feel free to judge it.

Rock isthe best type of music. The thing about rap and hip hop I'd that I am not black and I am not a white guy who is trying to be black. Nothing against black people.

Emo was given a seperate category? Isn't it considered a part of rock?
Anyway, my vote goes to rock.

Well, listening to primarily indie, and alternative, I like a lot of rock/pop/folk, depending.
Rock overall I feel is the strongest, and often can fit pop/folk elements into it at the same time, but yeah... it's a bit narrow of a poll.

I listen to a lot of rap and rock, but currently more rock than rap.
Rock isthe best type of music. The thing about rap and hip hop I'd that I am not black and I am not a white guy who is trying to be black. Nothing against black people.
Thats an extremely ignorant thing to say. But I guess I shouldn't expect more from someone with grammar like that.
Carry on...
Edit: Oh yeah, I'm hip-hop all the way. I voted rap but radio rap music is mostly trash and I try to avoid it at all costs.

I concur, fucking what indeed.
Where's the "They're all shit..." choice (otherwise known as "Other, please state")?
Drum & Bass/Scratch for the win etc.
Although yes, FTA has a point. Proper rap (the kind you don't see in the charts) is tops.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard for a reason for not liking Rap or Hip Hop. That and it's pretty racist also to suggest that only Black ppl or white ppl who want to be black listen to rap or hip hop.

This is a biased pole, not that I am a bleeding heart liberal but lets be realistic, Rock is listened to by white guys, rap is listened to by black guys, Pop is listened to by teenage girls, Country is listened to by southerns with no teeth who like mayonaise sandwichs.
Why is it biased ok lets start:
#1 Most people on this site are teen to middle aged white males
#2 See #1
#3 How do I know that? well lets be realistic with each other most black guys are not as into the internet as white guys, granted they may be into games just as much, but how many black guys are actually on this site? I mean in reality it is maybe 10 % at max along with another 5% max that is female that leaves about 85 % of which mostly are white teenage males. you maybe have 7-10% asian and hispanic and another 3-4% misc.
SO im not trying to start a race war but facts are facts. However if you were to ask which music is the most popular the answer is obviously Pop music. Since the majority of people to by CD are teenage girls and they love people like Mariah Carey, and others.
Although one thing I always told my friend is I would love a SNoop Dogg-Nirvana mix too bad that will never happen

I wouldn't necessarily call it biased. He is asking what music people on x360a.org prefer. This isn't the "poll to end all" as to what music is the most popular.
I also wouldn't use generalizations and made up figures to support points I'm trying to make.
I didn't vote, as the categories are too broad.
As a side note, what most people consider "emo" nowadays is a joke.
I said country because although I don't like Keith Urban and whatnot, I like folk punk.

I'd have still chosen Rock over Country. I'm into folk punk as well, which is a subgenre of punk. I'd definitely say punk would go under rock rather than country. If you were talking about alt-country bands (Lucero comes to mind), then I'd definitely go with Country.
But I do get what you're saying. (I also like your sig. If it is what I think it is, I own that shirt.)

I never said it was a poll to end all polls, What I was saying was it was biased an reasons behind it, the generalizations maybe what they are but what I said was the population on this site is "MAYBE 10 %" those are brought non fact based statistics. I did not take a poll to say ok out of the 1000 people here: 100 are black, 650 are white, 25 are asian, 37 are mexican and so on. I am merely using broad statistics based on what is common knowledge.
Am I wrong for saying the majority of people on this site are white teenage, adult males lets say about 14-28? Am I wrong for saying that rock music is designed to go towards whites and rap music is designed to go towards blacks? Pop music towards young teenage girls? Country music for people who live in trailor parks and have no teeth? I am not breaking any ground in saying this, its just common knowledge look at who sings each type of music. The reason I said the poll is biased was because it is. It is different than asking what someones favorite baseball team is or like I saw someones favorite Rocky movie is, those are not cultural divides. By the way if I knew what kind of music Elmo was I would comment on it but I have no clue so therefore will not say anything about it.
Imagine this lets say I put out a poll and say which country is the best and name USA, England, Swahili, Nigeria, and Ethiopia. Is that not a biased poll. Obviously most people will vote for England and USA because this is where most of us are from. I dont mean this to be a political debate but I am merely expressing my opinion.

I can't stress this enough. MTV and the radio don't properly portray a genre. I'm assuming the only "rap" you know is along the lines of 50 Cent, Lil Jon, Soulja Boy, etc.

I think $1,000,000 is a lot of money, I would kill to have $1,000,000. Unless your a CEO or a Hollywood/Sports Star, $1,000,000 is a lot of money. damn I could pay off my house and my student loans, and have enough left over to send my kids to college.

Well I figured I'd offer up some of the bigger names in the genre seeing as people have a very skewed interpretation of the genre these days. To be perfectly honest I don't know TOO many bands myself. I'm also not familiar with Braid.

It's a highly misunderstood sub-genre of music.
In fact it's misused so much, that if I had a penny for every ignorant individual who misused it, I'd have like a million dollars.
