Iron Man demo for the X360 will be released for download on tomorrow, April 18. Be sure to check it out, as this game looks to have some heavy high quality to it already! :-) I'm already going to preorder it so hopefully this demo will justify I'm right. ^_^

Just downloaded it and played throught 2 times. Here is what i think :
Flying / Moving - Awesome, its so cool to fly around!
Shooting : Too easy, but it was just the first level.
Melee things : Awesome! When you grab for example tank you need to mash B and Iron Man pulls the roof open. Thats damn cool! Also got a chance to do grab to helicopter but i wont spoil that for you.

Only first map and ends before the real end i think. Still this game looked pretty awesome and looks like you can add different parts to your armor, thats probably cool also. 9/10 because the fighting was too easy. I played on normal difficulty though.

Yeah. This about hits on the head. Just popped it up during my lunch break. I mean, damn. This game is going to be wicked when its released, flying around just has an absolutely epic feel to it. And combat vs vehicles... it truly is something to be experienced. Its a very immersive Iron Man experience. Wow. Its about time Iron Man was done justice.

I disagree. My impressions of the demo were that the graphics are lack-luster and are nothing to write home about. Combat vs vehicles is not that fun or challenging. walk up to an enemy tank, press B a lot. Only thing which was interesting was catching rockets and throwing em back. Overall it felt a lot like transformers without the shiny transformers.

Also i found the controls switching from hover to flight to be quite difficult, camera goin everywhere. trying to fly and shoot , woa. Also the demo was far too short and boring.

nothing new here, maybe a rent for me:(

I like it. You have a lot of stuff you can do. For instance, you can shoot your repulsors, a unibeam laser and missiles in addition to plain old fisticuffs. You can also fly and hover with ease to get the advantage on the targets. The only thing that immediately screams out for some adjustment is the actual flying. You fly by using the left trigger and the left stick. The problem with this is you are usually running or hovering forward right before you want to fly and when you hit the left trigger you immediately start flying a loop-de-loop. It's pretty disorienting for the first few attempts.

The demo gives you 9 minutes to blow everything up and the level looks like it's right out of the first few levels of Ghost Recon 2. Downy does the voice work and it's very fluid and natural. I don't know how much it would get in the way of a full game, but for this level the banter between Stark and Jarvis is easy to take. The radar and targeting system is down right kindergardenish. Every point of interest is identified with a colored target square and radar point. You can automatically lock on to targets if your crosshairs are close. Once you're in range of your target you have lots of options on how to blow that bitch up. You'll be using your repulsors through most of the level. They can take out most targets in 5 or 6 shots. The coolest visual is the three rockets that shoot out in a cone and then converge on the target. They are a one shot. As is your unibeam which takes a second to charge before you fire. Finally, if none of that does anything for you you can always walk up to the target and punch it real hard like. You can also land on the top of tanks which triggers a button mash screen that will rip the top off. Another possible complaint of the combat system is that there's just about always something firing at you. Random helicopters spawn in the sky and swoop up behind you. Turrets and SAM guns are easy to miss in the large environment. It's a bit of a nuisance but it also ensures you always have something to shoot at.

The demo hints on some other aspects available in the full game. First, you can customize your armor and setup. Want more missiles? That will be $78 million. No real biggy. After all, you are a multi-billionaire. You can also upgrade your life support, melee strength, and flight among other things. There's also a power routing system controlled by the thumbpad that you'll probably need to become familiar with during gameplay. The demo never really gave you a need to use it, but I guess if you're taking too many hits you can adjust it to increase your health, or flight speed, or weapons depending on the situation. Another neat element.

For those fearful of it being a free roam (a la Superman Returns), don't worry. This seems to be a mission by mission playground, again, very much like Ghost Recon 2. I think most people will like it. Enough to buy it? Maybe not. Certainly enough to give it a rent if the rest of the game levels are equal to the demo level.
