I'm trying to learn the bass tab for we will rock you, for a school performance with by band. So, if there are any guitar players out there, I need your help.
Well, I looked at some tabs for We Will Rock You and it said the bass line just goes 44-6 (frets) on the G string. If you try that on a bass guitar, it sounds unnaturally high for We Will Rock you.
I saw another one that said it is 00-12 on the E string. That sounds more like it.
Does anyone know the proper way to play it? Then again I was thinking of just playing the E string open then slapping it. Does anyone know how Queen actually played it?
Hmm, well I found some various guitar tabs but only one for bass...pretty much what you already said but I have no other idea. Have you tried playing with the song and see how it sounds?
Follow the drums, play 0 0 on the bassdrum/ floor tom/ stomps i use some slides on the octaves some times (experiment) and so on.. bass is tricky for easy songs and most people suck at tabs. look for a program called guitar pro or power tab. they play the tabs in midi

some people put bass and even drum tabs in the songs that they make.

I don't know the proper way to play this song.
1st -> try to tab it out by ear. If you can't. Then go to step 2.
2nd -> visit www.ultimate-guitar.com (http://www.ultimate-guitar.com) because they have the most reliable bass and guitar tabs on the internet. Play the ones you feel most accurate and if they aren't tweak them a bit as you play.

Thanks for all the help guys.
I usually use Powertab to learn a song, or try to lift if myself with easy songs like Seven Nation Army or Holiday. Sadly every powertab I got didn't have a bass line.
I found playing the E string open twice then slapping it sounds best. I just play that along with the bassbass-snare of the drums. I still think the last note of 00-12 on the E string sounds to high, even with a slide.

www.ultimate-guitar.com is the best tab site right now. And GuitarPro kicks the shit out of PowerTab.

If you play bass and the notes seem high you might have to tune your guitar a step down
