Crossbow in Assassins Creed?

ive heard from a lot of people that u can get a crossbow if u get every flag in the game. is this true?

It is not true :( The flags give you nothing but achievements. It would be totally awesome though.

Yeah, the game intro clip is awesome. It would have also been nice to kill someone like that near the gallows.

The crossbow would have been a nice a touch, but I guess it might have been too bulky. I don't exactly imagine an assassin having a whole armada of weaponry attached to them - the throwing knives are fine; eliminate targets from a distance quickly.

I could have done without the short swords and used a cross bow with a gears over the shoulders crosshairs. didnt go for the flags anyways to confusing.

If i remember, Ubisoft said that getting a crosbow would be too easy for the gamer and considering the fact that there is no difficulty on the game itself it would make it really easy.

The reason was that at the time of the game, it took roughly a minute to reload a crossbow. Wouldn't exactly be very useful

Just saying I remember seeing an article in OXM (official xbox magazine) saying that having a crossbow or bow would be too easy.

the crossbow would be terrible, youd shoot it then have to make the soldiers wait for like 3 minutes so you could reload it. Itd be like a musket or something, dont like it wouldve fit in very well.

A corssbow would be quite un-realistic for that time period in the game. I think that we may be able to look forward to having one in the next Assassains Creed.

For anyone that doesnt know, the crossbow was replaced by throwing knives because it was too complicated or something. So basically there isnt a crossbow at all in the game but the intro. But the throwing knives are good

Apparently they took it out because there was a corssbow reloading minigame, like the hacking one in Bioshock, and it sucked.




Actually, that isn't true, I made it up. Jeez, imagine a minigame to reload weapons in ANY game...

crossbow reloading like in Gears, hit it at the right time and he reloads quick and you get a damage bonus! :woop:

I would love a crossbow if you only got one shot and it took awhile to reload. This way it would be more realistic and there would be a lot of strategy as to when you use it.
