Enemies- Know them well, and know what combos work against them. I'm not going to list them all, but very quick strats against a few of the tougher ones.
Shielded Humans - Keep your distance, strong glaive throw to stun, then unload with your off hand weapon. You can use aftertouch to skim the top of thier shield, then move down to get them that way, it is a bit harder, but can be done.
Minigun "Robots" 2 blue nodes on thier shoulders can be destroyed, then hit them in the back with a powered up shotgun or strong glaive throw, they are actually very easy once you know this.
Shifting Infected - These guys are the bane of my existance. Thier projectile is strong, and they can get behind you quickly, without warning... what worked for me was a the shotgun, and constantly diving only stopping to get a good shot. You can also try to take them out from a distance, but they can close the gap pretty quickly. Once you get shifting, easiest way is to shift, charge them and do a finisher, hide until you get your shifting back, then do it again.
Bosses - all pretty easy once you know the "trick" so I'll let you know what works... there may be more effective ways, but these were easiest for me on Brutal.
***** MAY CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS *****
Colossus (Chap 4) - Use fire glaive to knock him off the pillars, he will glow red, run up and do a finisher, do this 3 times then he will stay on the ground. He will glow green/blue during his boulder throw, that is when you hit him with a fire glaive. Shooting him works too, but it works best when he is on fire. Keep the fire pit between you and him, and use a powered throw whenever possible.
Jackal (Chap 5? second one you have to fight) Blow up the truck on your right to get your Glaive on fire, then run to the back of the area, the game will quickly show you a fenced in area with that membrane like stuff covering it, light it on fire, then use aftertouch to go over the fence and get electric glaive. Shock the Jackal run up behind it and pull the guy out... now have fun with your tank.
Stalker (Chap 7) The best and easiest way I found was to keep your glaive iced up as much as possible (there are conveyer belts on either side that has them, they move by every couple of seconds) wait for him to charge you, then throw your Glaive into the water right in his path, this will freeze him in place for a bit, so pull out your shotty (which you have of course) and unload. With fire rater powered up you should be able to hit him quite a bit. Rinse and repeat. He really dosn;t deviate too much from his attack. OR, you could just keep your shotty out the whole time, roll away when he charges and start shooting. Both are effective, but you get more shots in if you freeze him.
Nemesis (Chap 9) Stay out of its way... You can throw your Glaive, but it won't do all that much. Wait for it to charge the spear with electricity and throw it. Use that to power up your Glaive, then throw it at "him". The shield will go down, and "he" will glow red, run up and do a finisher, "he" will jump up to a balcony and charge up and throw the spear again... I charged my Glaive and threw it, but I'm not 100% sure you have to (You probabaly should). Just repeat this 3 times and victory is yours.
Final Boss - Destroy ALL the blue glowing things on the tentacles, once you have, the tenticle will rise up and keep its mouth open for a long time. Charge your glaive with electricity and aftertouch it right into the middle of its mouth, once you destroy all of them be fast about hitting the guy in the center a couple of times, both shooting and glaive work, but you must be quick or you will die instantly, and have to restart from stage one. Do this times 3 and you beat the game :)
General tips: Some of this stuff is pretty standard, and common sense, but I thought I would share anyway. The first half of the game is pretty easy, just stay in cover, use an element charged and power glaive throw whenever possible, and keep your distance from melee infected. Combos work well... Use a powered throw, and when the enemy is glowing red, but you are too far for a finisher, a round or two with whatever weapon you have should finish them off quicker than another glaive throw. This works in reverse as well... couple rounds then a glaive throw. Saves time and ammo. Your Melee attacks are very weak, they are more for defense, so don't go rushing into groups of enemies.
Blind Power Glaive Throw - without holding the left trigger you can powerthrow your glaive, get the timing down first, cause it is easier that way... its about 3 seconds, but when your glaive is ready for a power throw, your controller will rumble slightly... get used to it, it works a lot better then melee attacks.
Use the right upgrades for your weapons... there is usually a checkpoint right before each Black Market, you can add upgrades to your gun, test it out then reload if you aren't happy with the results (since you can't take them off) My best combo is 2 accuracy for the standard pistol and a clip upgrade, and a powered up Protecta 2 to fire rate, Effron(sp) shells and puncture... takes out close groups in 1 shot.
Let your enemies fight eachother- there are multiple parts of the game where humans and infected will be fighting eachother... let them. Just hang back, wait for the smoke to clear then finish off whoever is left. Especially when the Colossus is around before you actually have to fight him, just saty out of his way and let him do the work.
Be patient: Some of the later levels have very strong enemies on Brutal... if you try and rush you will probably die quickly. Pick your shots, and use all your powers... a shielded rush with a shotgun actually works sometimes, but know how long your shield lasts cause if you get caught in the open with no cover, you'll be trying again. Using Aftertouch is pretty much the saving grace of Brutal... you can hide well behind corners and take guys out one by one without exposing yourself at all. It feels slower, but is a hell of a lot faster than restarting that checkpoint over and over.
