i need tips on the final boss fight

hello all,
i wont reveal any spoilers in this messege, but i will ask about a couple things in the final fight.

1. do you get any checkpoint, after you weaken the boss enough? because i heard that the final part you have to act quickly or else you get killed in one go.
2. how many times do you have to "hit" the boss before you go into next phase of the fight?
3. do the spawning enemies only arrive after you hurt the boss? or do they simply spawn in everytime you kill them? or are they on a timer or something?

it seems like they pop up enough that i can't get enough hits in on the boss to finish him before they kill me!

i only ask because i managed to get through hard mode rather fine until the VERY END! now i find it's chaotic trying to beat the boss, and fend off spawning enemies all at the same time. i am hoping there is a kind of pattern or something where i can focus on killing the enemies, then when the coast is clear i have plenty of time to hit the boss.

anyway i hope someone can help me with this! i would appreciate it heaps! :D

i did this and it was easy. Just use ur mind attack or whatever its called on him then it gets ur combo meter full so if anyone comes at u just do a simple finishing combo and there dead. Just keep repeating. And yes it does save when he needs 1 more mind blast to go to the final part. Im pretty sure they do keep spawning but it gives u plenty of time between killing the random enemies and them spawning so u can easily hit him once before having to worry about them.

just tazer the big enemies. pipes and the like are on the ground near the railing of the center, so use that to make light work of the skinny crawling bums.

the first big bum comes from the left where you start. tazer him, then get a special attack or two off on dorland. the skinnies will come, use your chain attack or a weapon to drop them. the big bum may revive from the tazer or another will come out. just tazer him again, take out skinnies again, and focus on dorland.

i only had 2 waves of bums, 1 big and 2 skinnies each, for a total of 6 enemies. after that it was just dorland and i.

after you've mind blasted dorland knocking his helmet off, you'll go into a chain combo. if you miss a button he whips out a gun and shoots you, so be ready for it. i'm not 100% sure, but for me it was something like Right, Right, Left, Right, then a mind blast attack.

all up i faced 2 big guys and tasered them, and also 4 skinny crawly bums. 2 skinnies arrived after each time i hit the boss with the voice.
also after hitting the boss a third time i didn't get a checkpoint until i killed the remaining big chained bum. the moment i killed him i got a checkpoint.

im guessing the reason for this is so you have a clear area to fight the boss 1 on 1. if you simply taser the final big bum/s you dont seem to get a checkpoint.

so boiled down for players like me here it is: (you must get 3 direct hits -where he grabs his head in pain- on the boss and clear area of bums, to get to checkpoint)

taser big bum
use voice on boss
kill 2 skinny bums
taser big bum
use voice on boss
kill 2 skinny bums
taser big bum
use voice on boss
THEN kill big bum (who should be the only bum left)
checkpoint.
easily defeat boss with a couple punches
