Do you guys think that cheats are going to disable disable achievements?.

I Think it is pretty obvious there are going to be cheats in the game and will not disable any achievements seeming there isn't kill so many people with x weapon etc (if those achievements that are posted are real) there is no real need to disable achievements and also when you used cheats in bully it didn't disable achievements.

There obviously will be cheats and I think you have a good point that the achievements won't have a real influence on the achievements.

Personally I prefer games not to have cheats at all, but if they do leave them in, to disable achievements if you use the cheats - afterall you haven't achieved anything, you've got an acheatment instead.

I can't remember previous GTA games having cheats, but I played them on PC rather than console

Good point, but i would never cheat in while doing an episode only in free roam just to mess around like the jetpack cheat in san andreas :P.

and GTA games have always had cheats in them well atleast from GTA III they did.

Well i hate to break it to you, but Rockstar first 360 game, Table Tennis, had cheats which directly affected you not getting achievements. I think you should play it safe and get the majority of the achievements you want first, and then play with cheats. There may also be that if you save the game after activating a cheat, you will no longer be able to get achievements with that game save, so basically don't save once cheated, and don't use cheats until you got the achievements you wanted. Better safe than sorry!

Nah man, GTA WAS a cheat game.
I mean seriously, cheats made Grand Theft Auto.

lol yeah, its probably about 60% of people play GTA just to mess around kill people and using cheats to make it more fun and the other 40% play for the story... and the messing around and cheats :p

You see that's my point exactly, I don't know what they will do if the cheats disable the achievements, it might just be another generic game to be honest, I played these games FOR the cheats.
It's what made it fun.

I hope the cheats don't disable achievements if you just use them to mess around with but if you use them for missions or whatnot then I think they should be disabled. They should have an option to enable and disable cheats so you can work on achievements when you want to but if not then just mess around for a while.

I don't think I would mind either way, I got the 100% on GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas without using cheats so I don't think the achievements would be too hard without them.
If you can use them, the achievements will be easy, if you can't they will be challenging, but since it's GTA it will be fun either way!:)

Who knows. When it comes i will play without cheats first just to be on the safe side until it is confirmed that they dont directly affect achievements.

Obviously cheats were what made GTA what it is now, Jetpack in SA ftw!

i think it is almost certain they will, as when the magazines and journalists got their two hour playthrough, the guide from rockstar put in 'developer codes' to unlock all the weapons from the start, and jump 2 certain missions, so they could experience the final game.
whether they will be in the final game or not i don't know

if you remember rightly if you used cheats on the original games you were never allowed to get 100% complete so it would defeat the object of going for the 100% achievement

I never really went for 100% in other games just went around and killed a hell lot of people :p. San Andreas was the only gta game i finished the story.
