Here is an interesting story that was on the Yahoo main page that I felt would make an interesting read for all those intriguied as to why there has been a shortage of Wii's.

Always wondered what caused the shortages. It does make sense though.

I had to beat an old lady down with a baseball bat to get my Wii.

I hope they don't find they don't find the body....:p

I'm not sure that I'd beat a lady down with a baseball bat... *ponders* then again... Nah! haha* I'll just borrow my friends until I can get my own console. I refuse to pay the $450 that they are going for on eBay, so I'll wait.

I guess that makes some sense. Still, considering how many more units the Wii has sold than either of its competitors since it's launch (not counting the year head start the 360 had) it's not tough to see why supply has been constrained. Every soccer mom I know either has or wants a Wii, gamer or not.

That makes too much sense. Its always like that., Europe always seem to get things first or in bigger quantities then America. But economy is pretty bad right now so I wouldn't want to do any trade if it would lower profits.

lol, that's so far from the truth! Every European will "lol" at that statement. Europeans always get shafted and I mean always! Anyways, the reason makes sense but I also think it has to do with so many people want one here that they just prevent meeting the demand until the demand increases more. Either way, it's about time because I need one lol.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh at your post. Aside from a game or two, Europe has to wait anywhere from a week to several monthes after we get it.

Look at Rock Band, it's been out since last year and Europe doesn't even have it.

yea i read this on yahoo.com the other day....thought it was interesting and stupid....they just want more money....they could sell more wii's in North America then in Europe, but they want more money...instead of selling more consoles

Think about it. If you could make more money selling something in one place and not the other, wouldn't you?

Nintendo is a business, they were only making the smart business move in the end.
