With this one it says "You found every available fire-arm." Does that mean every gun in the game or just one of every gun. Some levels have multiple pistols, shotguns, or SMGs. Do I need to pick up each of those or just one. Also, if I only need one of each type, do I have to do this with each level? Like if I got a pistol in level two, do I have to pick up the pistol in level 4? Thanks!

you need one of every time of every gun, it doesnt matter which level you find them on

You also just have to pick them up. You aren't required to shoot them, just hold them, so you can still get Melee Master while trying to get this award. Also, if you're going for Melee Mayhem you need to hold every firearm in melee mode (RB) for that achievement as well. So, if you're going for Melee Mayhem, you're going to get Firearm Freedom by default.
I found a good list of each weapon and the levels they appear in over at GameFaqs, but I'm not sure about off-site linking, so I'll just tell you it's there unless a mod says I can hyperlink to it. ;-)
EDIT: Since the Minty one has given me permission, here's the link: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/file/condemned_b.txt
If you scroll down to the bottom he's got a whole section devoted to the various achievements that aren't covered as part of the walkthrough. (Birds, Metal and TVs are covered as he goes through the game.) He gives a rundown of the "common" locations for each of the melee weapons and some more details on the Firearm Freedom award.
Hope that helps some. :-)

Not always. I got the Melee Mayhem Award and used every gun as a melee weapon while doing it and did not get the Fire-Arm Freedom achievement. I had to go back through and shoot with every gun to get the achievement. And I used a checklist so that I knew I had found them all. I think if you find the gun and shoot it, as long as it doesn't hit anyone, you can get them both in the same game. Unfortunately I didn't shoot with any of them the first time through, so I had to do it again.

Yea luckily I didn't have to play through the whole game for this. I just had to replay the last 2 levels or so and it unlocked but it should have unlocked the first time through since I also made a checklist and found them all.

Looks like you have to go back through and actually pull the trigger on each gun. However, if you go back through and replay a level you've already completed and gotten Melee Master on, you can shoot the gun without worrying. Just remember that you have actually complete the level that you shot the gun on or it won't count toward the total. I don't have the breakdown, but the link I posted above has some more information and you can usually find a few different guns on particular levels. I know you can find good ones in Library (shotgun, machine gun, pistol). You might even be able to find one of each to shoot in a level like that, there aren't a whole lot of guns in the game... But you won't have to play the whole game over again to get the award, just enough levels to fire each of the guns.

Congrats!
Now you just need to find those birdies and metal pieces. I used the walkthrough I linked above to find them all. Good stuff. Good luck with it!

Ok so i've completed the game, but still need
Melee Mayhem Award
+
Fire-Arm Freedom Award
Do i have to play through the entire game again?
I've used the above list to work out what i missed (like the Sawn off shotty and desk draw) so i know the levels i need to replay, can i do a mission select, or load previous save games?
Dont really wanna replay the game
