Bug with Horsebows Book?

A few days ago I finished the main story and checked my achievements, realizing that I don’t have the Horsebows book. Weird thing is that I can command Horsebows even while not having the book.

Yesterday I restarted the game to get that book but it doesn’t want to drop. I am deep in 2 – Star Fame missions, got all the books of that bracket, but Horsebows wouldn’t drop.

Anyone has experienced a similar bug?

Do I need to have levelled Bows to a certain degree to get this book? Cos I don’t enjoy Bows that much so I haven’t played with them (I know I need them for Explosives and Engineering but I am not trying to get those anyway).

Any help would me much appreciated.

Was there a patch recently or something? I haven't played in months, but I never came across a glitch like that.

Last reply before I go to sleep lol, I think I downloaded a patch because I got the horsebow book 3 days ago (and I hate this units). I always make it a habit to play games online that way can play online games with friends or download the latest patches to games. Hope this helps, peace.

I haven't encountered a patch yet, nor have I run into this problem. There are glitches with this game I will admit. IE: base commanders not spawning for an entire day, instant death from 1 hit regardless of being 30 levels above the enemy, and horses getting stuck in trees. I wouldn't be surprised if this happened. I got my horsebows book with my bow book at around level 12, so I don't think it's level related.

Commanding said units is possible even without the book for them, they cannot be leveled up if you lack the book however. My advice would be to focus on the largest towns, and target the enemy generals, especially high ranking storyline generals. Generals almost always drop good loot, and storyline generals have always dropped a red chest(the chests that carry weapons, armor, and books) when I kill them. Story generals often respawn at a certain base, so you might want to try farming them before taking it over. If they don't respawn, just move on.
