I really wanna download a torrent. However, its at 82.75 percent, but it keeps telling me theres an error. "Can't access file because another program is already using it". This isn't true though!

Any suggestions to fix this?

Try renaming the half complete file then rename it back to what it was and try again. This should stop any program using it because the name has changed.

Also you could try with uTorrent Open Ctrl+Alt+Del and end task explorer then try and resume the download.
To get explorer back on the same window press "new task" and put explorer or explorer.exe into the box.

Yeah, don't download torrents.

Torrents are not illegal if the file you are downloading isn't copyrighted and he never said he was downloading copyrighted files..

You're stealing music whether the torrent is "legal" or not. Are you paying for a torrent? No. So you're not paying for the music you're downloading, which isn't legal.

If you don't pay for something that isn't free to begin with, it's stealing, which in most states and countries, is illegal.

But that's not what the thread is about, so sorry for going off-topic.

Trent Reznor released his latest CD through a torrent site and didn't charge for the album, what's illegal about downloading that?

That's awesome for Reznor, with the not making any money and all and more power to him, but besides him people generally want to make money off their stuff. And I said if it isn't free to begin with, which I guess his CD was, it's stealing. So it wasn't stealing if you downloaded his album, which is what I said.

Reznor would lose pittance compared to what the Record company makes off cd sales. Don't quote me on it, but i think it's something like 44% of cd sales the record company gets, compared to about 6.5% for Reznor.

And anyway, the guy never said he was downloading music. :p

This guy never once said he was downloading music...
Lots of big companies put free files from their websites on Torrents so that people can get the files without using the companies bandwitch from their site.
Alot of Game Companies put their patches/demo's on torrents sites for the same reason.. so stop attacking/flaming this guy he hasn't said his done anything wrong.. stop pressuming what his trying to download is illegal..

Do not reply back to this you've already spammed this guys thread and took it completely off topic...

back on topic..

ABR did you try what i said and did any of those methods work?
