View Full Version : Hard Mode, what are the hardest moments?

I really want to 1000/1000 this game. But I'm not one for frustrating myself for no good reason. So Hard Mode is my last achievement to worry about. I can imagine the most floor-pounding difficult moments involve the slime creatures, the armor bums, and the slithering bums (in the school/kitchen). And probably the entire last third of the last level.
Any tips?

Sounds about right to me. I have 2 levels left. What's cool is you automatically get the gold upgrades from your first playthough even if you get bronze on every hard mode level. I've been conserving my taser and most of the times I don't use it at all. Guns are not really a problem since you have the kevlar vest upgrade. For me, I had problems with the bum with chains (big bum) on the early stages. That armored bum went down like a bitch when I tased him. The slime creatures are annoying because they keep hitting you and you take a lot of damage on hard mode. I had no problems with the school stage if you holster the silenced pistol and keep a bowling ball (it does tons of damage!!) I am hoping to now have a lot of problems on the final two levels here.

Hard mode was surprisingly simple, just have to be a bit careful, the hardest parts. hmmmmmm, i can't really think of one. last level might be hard for you though, because of the <.< idk if i wanna spoil it for anyone. but ya, if you beat it on normal youll know what to do and youll do it smoother than your first play through

I have a feeling the first, 10th, and last levels are probably the standout hardest ones. Which is why I'll probably play the last level on hard first, to determine whether or not I want to bother.

You're almost right. The 10th level is actually the easiest in the whole game. There are like three or four of those crawler creatures, then you mostly run away from enemies or don't have to fight them with hand to hand combat until the last part, where you have unlimited ammo and just fire away. Even if you die you have a checkpoint right there.

I actually only had one problem playing on hard and that was the lollipop sawblade chick, I hated tossing the teddybears up at her

Alright, well I played through on EASY first... then I went back and replayed the first mission on HARD and just continued to play through the game. I got to use the gold upgrades I achieved from my easy run regardless of getting bronze and silver on my second playthough on hard. Running past any non-essential enemies turned this into a total cakewalk. With 5 taser shots, the last 5 missions are a so easy, since you are forced to fight less than 5 enemies on most of the missions. For me, the hardest part was fighting the two thugs outside the electronics shop in the first mission. The first guy runs past you into a garage type building and another dude comes from the left. That second guy gave me no end of trouble prompting several restarts. Even if I could kill him, the first guy would come back out of the garage and finish me off. After this part, the rest of the game was piss-easy. lol Seriously I was worried after fighting that random normal dude. I have no idea why he kicked my ass so many times!! Once you start getting access to the upgrades, you should have no problems with this game.

I found the achievements in this game so simple. although I did beat the game 3 times to get 1000/1000 it was well worth it, because i missed alot of the dialogue the first go and I caught the story better. Hard mode was my last achievement also and I was dreading it, but I started playing and forgot I was even playing on hard. It was very simple to me, although I did know where pretty much everything and every enemy was. but this should be quite a breeze for you.
