View Full Version : Thompson Sanctioned by Florida Supreme Court

One more round today in the continuing downward spiral of controversial Miami attorney Jack Thompson. Today the Florida Supreme Court sanctioned Mr. Thompson after he failed to prove that they shouldn't through his recent "show cause" order. So what does all this law jargon mean exactly? Well the long and short of it is that Thompson will no longer be able to file cases directly to the courts but instead will have to hire another lawyer to do so on his behalf. While this move won't completely muzzle the outspoken Thompson, it will certainly make it difficult for him to bring more of his frivolous lawsuits to the court's attention. Bear in mind that this is a separate issue from his disbarment trial which is currently in the works. How in the hell is it a shame? This guy doesn't deserve a job, particularly one where he has power. He's completely insane, he once sued the makers of South Park for "glorifying suicide" after a kid who didn't even watch the show hung himself. He's a fucking glorified ambulance-chaser.
And I was going to make this thread... :(

I'm glad he's gone. Never really effected me considering I don't think he won a case against video games.

Well, good riddance. I don't think this guy could be loved... He has been against all things kids look forward to: games, music, & tv. I think some of his cases were pretty stupid. He abuses his power of being an attourney.

don't fuel the fire. if somebody kills him, it will most likely be a gamer. more controversy! i don't think anybody would understand besides us gamers that he just deserves to die because he is an ignorant prick.

Good point, well thought out and eloquently written...Of course I am being sarcastic; its stupid comments like this that help him argue stupid points. Next week I would not be surprised to see a lawsuit stating, "X360a forum supports murder of non-gamers by gamers" Use your head man, comments like this affect the credibility of our website and all gamers.

No way. After all Jack found out that Mario was the one who inspired all people that mushrooms are good for you. Who knows how many deaths have been caused by that plumber showing us that "All mushrooms are good, even the poison ones...."

I'm sure this won't be enough to keep him out of the headlines though. He'll still be on TV or in the papers making noise, but at least he's out of the courtroom.

I'm aware that I'm not in any position of power on this website, but I just wanted to say, try to keep the discussion somewhere above the level of talking about killing Jack Thompson. Every single time that there's a thread about him on here (which is somewhat often) there are always numerous posts about how he's a worthless piece of shit who needs to die. We've heard it before, and when you say it, you're just helping to prove him right.
