No, I didn’t pay over $225.00 for an early copy of RSV2. What I meant is over the past 2 weeks, I bought games totally that amount; Condemned 2: Bloodshot $59.99 (Condemned: Criminal Origins came with for free via Circuit City), NFS: ProStreet $39.99 at Target, Bully, $49.99, and Just Cause, cuz it was only $10 at Circuit City, not to mention Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

It turns out that I’m not the gamer I used to be, with the girlfriend, school, and work taking up what used to be my precious gaming time. Now, with the release to the sequel of one of my favorite games of all time, it seems that adding gaming time to that plus the above mentioned, I most likely will just ignore the other games I recently bought. So to me it feels that I just blindly wasted almost $200.00. I doubt that this will get many responses but, does anyone here ever feel like there’s not enough time to fully enjoy your money’s worth? Could it be that I’m just out-growing it all…? Opinions, thoughts, and suggestions……

I can only get a new game every now and then, so to be honest, no. Lawl. You could say I don't have a life, but really, you could say that about anything. Hanging out with friends, going to the mall, watching movies, all things you could supposedly 'not have a life' for doing a lot. But honestly, your hobby is your life.

If you don't want it you could always hook me up with Bully. :) JK

Best thing I can say is focus on one game at a time. Play it until you get tired of it and then move on to another game. Just play Brawl when you have friends over, the good times will never end...;)

True that. I'm probably even gonna stop achievement whoring so I can play more GH.

I think that's what got me...I got addicted to the whole Achievement aspect of 360 games, but at the same time, there's a side of me that just wants to play on the new games, to say, at the least, that I've played them.....

Then there's things like the whole freezing issue of Bully. When there's things like that, I put the game off...then happen to not play it again.....or for a long time at least....i.e. Blue Dragon has been sitting on the shelf for months now

sounds like you just need to sit back and play 1 or 2 at a time. there is no need to get them the day they come out its not like they will disappear of the face of the planet. aw hell buy them used save some money and then you won't feel like you waisted money

OK man time to suck it up! :p

Life is about QUALITY not quantity. You sound like a man who has just lost your focus a bit; I'm here to help.

#1: Life Life is what you make it.

You have a girlfriend - enjoy that.
You go to school - study hard to get a good job.
You have a job - to pay the bills (good for you!) and buy loads of video games (also good for you)
You love video games - but can't find the time.

#2: Balance This is where most people have trouble.

Too much of any of the above issues is BAD, you know that already. The trick is to prioritize, as some things are more important than others, and as you mature this list will change. Once you have things 'in order' and get used to using what you know, decisions have more meaning and are easier to make.

#3: Solution

Using you new balanced approach, gaming is more rewarding. You'll game when you have time and enjoy that time all the more.
As your priorities change you'll move in and out of activities, adjusting to the new activities is up to you. You may hit the 'gaming is not for me any more' stage and you'll move on. That's OK because it will be replaced by something else in your life.

Life is about balance. If you're unhappy/unsatisfied you're probably out of balance.

I feel your pain. I've wasted money on games that I hardly ever played. It seems developers like to release good games at the same time...which is awesome, and blows at the same time.

I have wasted money on games, that why I got gamefly. I have only bought one game since I have had gamefly. It is saving me a ton of money.

If you are going to look into getting it PM me, I can help you out!

I will be buying r6v2, but that will last me a long, long time!

Yup, that is exactly what I was going to suggest.

To me, it ended up breaking down like this:

Gamefly is, in all honesty, an expensive way to rent games. But, even if you go with a 2 out plan, you're looking at roughly 23 dollars a month. If you break that down versus buying new games, it's basically one new game every other month.

This allows you to not only play things like Condemned 2, but also ALL of the NFS franchise, Just Cause, and any other random games you might want to throw in there.

This helps on a few fronts:

1. Play old and new games that you REALLY want to play, but shouldn't be buying because of time or replayability issues (hello, Army of Two!)

2. Because it's a 2 out, you don't have to worry about being inundated with games that you feel you HAVE to play because you bought them. You can play 2 or 3 at a time as you feel like, and if you get bored with a game, just send it back.

3. There is also a Keep It option on GameFly for those games that you just don't want to send back (I ended up getting Burnout Paradise for 32 dollars, brand new, shortly after it came out because I didn't want to stop playing it). It's cheaper than buying new, and that is the only time I've used it, so you really don't end up spending that much more than you would've for new.

It's a pretty good option if you really break it down with the time you have to play games, and the money that you have available to spend.

But, I wouldn't be too worried about what you purchased, even still. Here's why: RSV2 is really the only multiplayer game you purchased. NFS, Condemnded, AND Just Cause are all games that you could put into your 360 a year from now and still enjoy. You may not have time to play it now, but you always can at another time. Play RSV2 while it's still popular online, then switch to the others after you're done. I think you'll be ok.

and then sign-up for GameFly!

My advice is rent, rent, rent. If you don't have a bunch of time to play a particular game, there's really no sense in owning it. Certain games are an exception if you'll be playing them on a regular basis (i.e. any of the online shooters like Halo 3, GoW, COD4, etc. or things like SSBBrawl), but for the most part if you're not a dedicated gamer, just rent.

Oh, and it's ok to have a life outside of video games haha ;)

Stick with a game that has a fun multiplayer that lots of people play, this would elimnate the purpose of buying so many games...I would save your money for something else like your girlfriend.

I'm the same as you bud - i used to buy loads of games and now i just don't have the time so i just buy games i really really want (and if i don't like 'em i traded them back) so yeh. I dont find enough time for games anymore but i dnt waste my money buy buying loads of games, i buy them and then take them back within the 10 days and get all my money back - HOORAY :>

I've never gotten that many games at once not even at christmas lol I usually get 1 game every 2-3 months lol. So no I don't have a problem finding time. Even with working, school, sports (baseball, basketball, football) and a girlfriend who will feel neglected if we dont hang out.

The plus side of my girl is that she plays games as well. She has been for a while; she once unlocked all the tombs in MK: Deadly Alliance is one weekend and pretty much owns my ass in any of those older Tokyo Extreme Racer games....so "quality" gaming time with her these days is spent on the Wii....

Quitting my job....well without it I wouldn't be able to
spend cash on games like i do...so that's out the door.....

I was in the same situation as you a few week ago, but it's eased up a bit better now as I split up with my girlfriend. (Not because of the 360, there was 'complications')

But even now, I still don't find a lot of time to play my games. I work 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. 11am - 8pm.

I go to bed about 12ish on a night, but I do a lot of other things when I get in from work instead of gaming. So it gives me about 2 hours a night (give or take 30 minutes). Doesn't feel like a long time.

Especially when RPG's are my favourite games, it's not a long time at all. You play an RPG for two hours and there's no sense of achievement at all! :p

I spend quite a bit of money on games too. About two week ago I bought 5 games, then last week I bought Bully. I've hardly played ANY of them.

My heart bleeds for you...

I know exactly how you feel. Over the past few weeks I bought Army of Two (59.99), Condemned 2(59.99), Dark Sector(59.99) i know it doesnt come out til next week but its paid for, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I have all these awesome games but now with my job, girl, and school i hardly even pick up a controller anymore. I may just be outgrowing my gaming habits as well. I never thought i would see the day.
