Changing weapons for my buddy

Yeah, so, I got most of the weapons and what not and that's great, but is there no way to change the weapons that my AI-player has? He's been stuck with this assault rifle since I got this game, at least I think so.

Anyways, is there a way to change his weapons, independently from what I'm having?

I know you can just swap with him but i dont know if you can change what hes has permanently.

As far as i know you cant change his weapons like you change yours
But you can swap with him in game.
I did notice today that my AI partner was using an unpimped BST V1 SMG
Which is 1 of the downloaded guns :woop:
