Just wanted to post this...
you may or may not know that playing through a franchise the game will freeze in the playoffs. I've proved this is something to with the HDD but I warn you that if you start having the game freeze at a loading screen then achievements wont register either.
The way to fix this is put your saves on a MU and detach the HDD
just a warning- it'll be a bitch to get score on a penalty and it not register because of a bug in the software
