Honestly, I can't believe I was right. Originally I had guessed this game would be overhyped to death! Well, believe me, so far this game has presented nothing grand. The campaign is straightforward, offering little to no other routes besides through streets-where-people-are-shooting-you-from-all-angles. If your teamwork is so important, then why can't one guy actually FLANK? I think the makers confused flanked with getting flakked to death.
The computer AI isn't that bad, I have to say, but you have to command it every three seconds. Leave it on an Aggro setting and it will die (or, fall down persay) in a minute or two. Leave it in stealth mode and it'll just sit there.
So far the characters in the game seem childish. Rios and Salem act like they just came out of Elementary school. Alice, the woman who gives the two objectives, sits around her house in a tank-top displaying her hidieous face and tattoos as if she was tough. Clyde is obviously the most idiotic character I've ever seen, calling Rios and Salem "****-o's" every three seconds.
This game reminds me of Kane and Lynch with the gameplay. The cover system is somewhat nice but sometimes it is a pain when you're trying to fire down a hallway and your guy decides to expose his whole body to get a few pistol bullets. Never learned how to lean in training, eh?
Multiplayer needs some serious patches. In a few games the bodies of the dead froze in the last position they were in before they died, so there were floating bodies. You can just run up to people and whack them, there's no point in guns unless you're sniping (which you have to stand still to do apparently).
I mean, I know my critique is harsh, but it is a fair warning. The game is fun if you like just shooting things up in single player with a friend. Multiplayer isn't so grand, they don't even have a team deathmatch mode or anything. You have to complete objectives and gain the most money instead. Well, at least, I thought personally they should of had a nice 2v2 setting or even a 2v2v2v2 setting.
Oh, and before I forget, when you play MP your costumes are random. Sometimes you're Rios and Salem, other times you'll be people from the campaign. I don't mind this, but a few of the people you can be are HUGE! The one dude looks like a giant blue robot clown! Its impossible not to be seen. They should of made all teams of two just Rios and Salem, they're the only characters who look nice.
So yeah, that's my critique. I was hoping this game would keep me occupied until Vegas II, but I doubt it will.

With a lack of good co-operative games for the Xbox 360, this is a welcome addition to my library of games to play with my friend and my son. This in my opinion is how Kane and Lynch should have been as far as co-op goes. I don't mind the childish stuff, I like going up to my son after a firefight and doing the air guitar with him or just knocking fists together. I think this game is very cool.

Ahh, see. That's where I'm different. I like the more serious games, not to the extent of being complete tactical missions.. but you know. I mean, I see how it could be fun, but maybe I've just spent too much time on Call of Duty 4.
I loved Kane and Lynch's multiplayer, by the way. Very creative.

Kane and Lynch's MP was the only redeeming factor for the game. The game could have been great but it was very unpolished. Beware on K&L Multiplayer though because people take the "traitor" system personally and give bad feedback to everyone who betrays. It's total crap.
I understand some of your points, but you may be taking it too seriously as you said. These are games after all, meant to entertain. I do play COD4 as well and I agree, that is a much more serious game and an excellent one at that. But don't be so quick to put down Army of Two. The Co-operative aspect is top-notch. You can interact with your partner now more than any other game.

How did you not see the many pre release trailers showing the main characters slapping eachother on the butt? This game has had "Non serious" written all over it from the beginning.

Bad thing about the MP is that there are so cheap ways to kill people: melee, shotguns and apparently even some heavy machine guns knock you down instantly, and you just lie there when opponent comes to finish you off.

I stopped reading about where you complained that the flanking mechanic doesn't work, because it does, if you know what you're doing. Not being practiced at a game is not a basis for claiming the game isn't good.

That isn't all true. In multiplayer, you can choose what character to be and the two main characters are choices.

lets be honest here , its a decent game not great but it doesnt suck . were all spoiled with how well cod4 runs off and on line . they tried something different and hopefully the next one will work out the bugs . anyways the flanking system does work , sometimes . dont assume he doesn't know how to play just because he doesn't like it . with comments like yours , id assume you had a vested interest in the game to take as a personal dig at yourself . its opinions , thats all .

I thought the game was quite a bit of fun. I like the fact that the basis of the games was co-op with a friend because now my brother and I actually have something we can play without trading the controller after every level/death. I thought a lot of the interactions between the characters were quite humorous also. I agreed with the guy about running up to your friend and doing the air guitar, I think we sat there for like 10 min straight doing that and just laughing that they put that in there. There was another time toward the end where one player has to shut off a breaker so the other one can run across and I got shot and instead of healing me, he dragged me onto the wires and turned the power back on and we had a good laugh about it.
Basically what I'm trying to ramble about is that, although there are flaws (read: many), this is a great game to sit down with a friend and play and just have a good time. It's like when you go to the movies, instead of watching a very deep, complex, pyschological movie, sometimes you just wanna laugh at dumb stuff and enjoy yourself. You know, like fart jokes. Yeah, I just compared Army of Two to fart jokes.

I think the multiplayer has a whole lot of potential, especially if you have a good buddy you wanna game with. I think EA just needs to get there crap together with the servers first. I'll admit the single player is a bit straightforward and the weapons were so so, but finally having an fps multiplayer game where the whole point isn't just to beat the snot out of the other guys is nice. You actually have to strategize and think. And you have the 3rd party AI running around wreaking havok, so that's unique. Two guys who know how to use the aggro well and manage money/weapons can reap some serious ownage. Maybe I'm biast because I preordered the thing, but if EA gets it together the multiplayer should be awesome.
My two cents, take it or leave it.
Oh, and the random character thing only applies to quick matches. You can select your character if you go into custom settings. Just a little fyi.
