View Full Version : Does it mean I killed the templar?

As a reference, I was getting flag #3 according to this map:

A random guard and the templar from that place were fighting me, but I fell in the water and died as it was saving. When I respawned, there was no templar standing in front of me on the dock. I forget what my templar count was so I'm not sure if it gave me the kill for it or not, despite me not actually killing it or showing up on my screen. I've gotten other flags / templars, died, and returned to the same spot by the boat and the templar there hasn't appeared again. So.. is he dead & should I mark him off my list?

Remember this location. When it comes time that you should be killing your final Templar and the game registers only 59, you might want to clear your cache and head back to that spot. I have a feeling that I'm going to be doing the same thing. I remember running over a Templar by the broken bridge in the Kingdom, but don't remember actually killing him... he's not there now. So I may need to finish the game up before I head back there to rez him.

That never happened to me but as he said be sure to remember it because it will screw you over later

ok, so that is a good theory on why some are missing. I just added my templars up and indeed I am missing 1. I think I do remember a situation where I killed one but fell in the water.
That brings up a good question - why do you die in the water? Altair can't swim?!? He can't even try?!? Geeze. It is so aggrivating to die in the water b/c you quickly learn to just give up and don't try to swim... but you have to wait for him to die.

Altair can't swim because at that time of history nobody would have been able to swim, except maybe sailors.
It just wasn't considered important.

True. I didn't think about that... but I guess the game devs did. :)

I think it may have.
If I just counted correctly, I've killed 28 templars in the kingdom for sure, and 4 in rich Jerusalem = 32 killed. And my count says 33... so..... either I didn't mark down one that I killed OR it gave me the dock kill.. I'll see at the end, I guess.
EDIT: Ok, I found the 29th templar in the kingdom. x360a's map doesn't list the assassins-creed.com's templar #18, so I had marked off the templar near flag #65 when I killed a templar but really that templar (#17 according to ac-maps) was still alive. So that makes 29 templar dead in the kingdom, and my total templar count is 41. 29 kingdom, 3 poor Jerusalem, 4 rich Jerusalem, 4 poor Acre = 40 templars accounted for.. so I'm still off by one. I tried clearing my cache and the templar by the dock didn't reappear.. so.. we'll see at the very end!

Yes, there are only 29 listed on the map on this site. I noticed that too when I was killing them all and it was why my count was off by one.
(And P.S. it did count the templar kill because I ended with 60, yay).
If you go here (http://assassinscreed-maps.com/Kingdom.htm), you'll notice there are 4 templars listed in that center open area (near flags 54-72). This site is missing the templar by flag #70. though for me, I killed that one and thought it was the templar on x360a's map near flag 65 but that the x360a map just was in the wrong spot.. but no, it's a totally different templar.
