How do you Knock a guy off his horse?

Im doing the wanted posters, and one of them wants me to catch the guy alive only, But he rides his horse, and whenever i try to kill his horse he always ends up dead. :(

I haven't played GUN for about a year but shouldn't you be able to zoom with your gun while riding the horse? That way you don't end up killing both the horse and the person you are trying to catch but instead just the horse.

Yeah dawezzy is right, when you're chasing after the criminal zoom in with your rifle and shoot the horse's legs, then when it dies you are safe to capture them.
