Any news on new characters?

On xbox.com there was a rumor that Tobi and Pain will be the next DLC character. Is this true?

i thought the game was following the cartoonand not the manga, in the cartoon we are no where near tobi and pain, so i would doubt this.

blus tobi only shows any Ninja moves when he reveals himself to be a Uchia mandori or something similar (the guy who trained Itachi and helped him wipe out the uchia clan)

would more likely be kankuro or hinati hyuga, itachi and kisami do appear at the end of the game so there characters could easily be added as DLC

Hmmm just look on xbox.com and look at the naruto forums and saw that Tobi and Pain was in there. Pretty weird but I was expecting Hinata and Shikamaru.

As many Naruto games as I've played, I cant think of any that have had Iruka as a playable character. And it'd be easy for the guys at Ubisoft, they've already developed a fighters model of him to spar against in story mode. Just add the usual Chakra Concentration justu and another one and a rage mode, no worries. Though as cool as it would be in time to play as Iruka, Hinata, Shino, Tenten etc, just think, it's another Achievement for each of them to climb the tower, and sometimes its horrible. I get bad lag sometimes, too, and get my butt whupped. Im considering taking my disc and profile on a mem card to a friend with higher connection and letting him have a go. He's an addict for things like DOA and fighters, he'd probably get the gist of it w/o getting so many d/c's.

Honestly, how can people be so stupid? It's not plausible for them to add Tobi or Pain, due to the fact that they are from the Series 2 (Shippuden) and this game (Rise of a Ninja) only covers the first 80 episodes on the anime.

And just to be a dick... Tobi isn't Uchiha Madarame, he's Obito - the one who gave Kakashi his eye before he supposedly 'died' and Kakashi had lost his eye in the same fight.

kakashi got his eye slashed then there was a next battle to save rin and obito pushed kakashi out the way and he gave him the sharingan as a present then obito i heard was saved by Zetsu then acted like he wasnt in the akatsuki but he actually was the leader and nobody can tell pein wat to do except for madara aka obito and probaly Konan

Where did you hear this? :/ In the manga they clearly said Tobi is Madara, even gave him a backstory when Itachi was talking about the Mangekyo Sharigan...

I really, really doubt there'll be Akatsuki members to download, including Itachi and Kisame. Really, I dont know why everyones begging for these guys to be added, theyd be, Im guessing, a re-skinned Kakashi and Zabuza, no real difference. If you think about it, the DLC's so far are all pretty unique, theres not another character in the roster like Choji or Temari, so maybe Ubisoft is after originality. (Another reason Im hoping for this, is because theres a higher chance Tenten and Shino could be added to the roster.)

Still, if they really wanted to add characters for characters sake, they could do what SSBM did (reskin characters, aka, Captain Falcon and Ganondorf) and give us things like Ino (a slightly revamped Sakura), Hinata (reduced stats Neji), Guy (Lee), Itachi (Kakashi) and Kisame (Zabuza).

Tenten, Shino, Kankura and the like are just too unique, unless someone were to rob Haku of his speed, he might be the right size for a Shino skin.

There was still speculation about him being Obito because he called himself Madara in a way that was ambiguous. But yes, it's been proven lately that he's Madara. Like the last couple chapters of the manga.

And this thread makes me laugh to think that the highest members of the Akatsuki would be DLC characters when you barely see two members of the Akatsuki in the game. XD
