2 New Ideas

Here are 2 new ideas I have thought of for this great forum. I've been to a lot so I know a good site when I see one.

1. A chatbox? You know, one down at the bottom of the home page?

2. A Boosting section of the forum. You can ask people if you wanna boost with them on certain games or just a subsection? IDK, just a thought...

1. Im unsure of my stance on that right now. I mean, that could become a largely spammed chatroom. I think I will stick to using IM or something of the sort. Too large of site to make a chatbox, unless there is restricting on who can use it, etc.

2. We have a boosting thread in every single game out there. It's usually called "Looking For A Friendly Match". Another thread for boosting wouldn't be needed. Makes it easier for people to click on the game's subjuctive forum spot and go from there.

I suppose a chatbox might be good... I just hope it doesn't get abused. Your second suggestion worries me. It seems like you don't know about the stickies. Wh have dedicated threads for boosting and achievement trading already.

My bad on the second question. I should've read the stickies and such before posting. I think a test chatroom might work?

The problem with a chatroom is that it cannot be monitored 24/7 and can be abused. There are 15k active members on the site, and we cannot trust all of them. The chatroom idea has been brought up, and denied. Maybe something is in the works, but it is not going to happen now.

I personally never even bother reading chatboxes on forums (atleast ones that I've been a part of before) because they are usually pointless and end up being spammed.

Just not really worth it IMO.

That's precisely the reason we will never implement this. We can't even keep people from posting "1st comment" on the news posts. We'd never have time to moderate something like this. Too much work for us, I'm sorry to say.

As for the second suggestion, every single game has a boosting thread. ;)

But in serious answer- the chatbox wont happen because this is a family site, and we try to keep it monitorred 24/7. A chatbox makes that phsyically impossible, and we have enough muppets spamming already on the site at times.

The boosting we already have :)
