I think that the thread under 'Media Section' called 'Rate the above signature' should not count towards post count. The same people are commenting under that thread multiple times and it's boosting their post count without them boosting the community.

I know I'm guilty of posting a few in there but not as many as some and it will filter down the people who really want to get their sig rated and who just wants the extra post counts.

Just an idea.

I don't think there's a way of making one single thread not count posts (we can do an entire forum), but I could just delete the thing and the posts would also go bye bye. ;)

I suggest you do that, it's a pointless thread really, i've done it twice but people have posted 10+ times in that thread.

I have posted in these before and yes they are mostly pointless but they are also very harmless. I actually spoke with Webb about threads like those and he doesn't mind them and says they aren't hurting us so they are okay. I personally don't mind them because on occasion I don't mind having my sig or avatar rated or whatever the thread topic is.

Yes but then people can easily get on the leaderboards and join the clans by posting rubbish...it doesn't take much to so 'Oh I think it good 9/10'.
Plus, people have been posting using the same signature more than once, so they've already had it rated.

I think it's a brilliant thread, but it just sucks that it can't be taken off post counts without it being deleted. Cheers for the reply Pants and thanks for looking into it

I am sure before you enter the leaderboards or the clan you are scrutinized .. especially if the person has been around for a few months and the persons has hundreds of posts .. spam wil not get you in good with anything around here.

That "Rate the signature thread" is the same thing as "Rate the avatar above you". I think we shouldn't have these rate the person above you stuff. It makes a lot of spam.

I like the thread myself, but i agree that people have been posting alot there (including myself recently). I don't think majority of the people are doing it for the post count, but they are doing it to help others work out there sigs. For anyone to think like that is pretty sick. I think you should go back and delete some of the posts which have been put up multiple times.

thats the thing your post count doesn't matter .. but it does it eats up bandwidth though considering the person has a signature and all the sideabr stuff .. so having meaningless posts means wasted space that could have been used for something insightful.
