Well myself and Stewy are both big fans of Gun and we felt that the current achievement guide was not very helpful in most areas, (no offence to the person who made the guide). So we thought that we should make a new guide togeather and well, here it is, be warned as it contains some spoilers for the story missions. Also, seeing as this is our first guide, any advice on how we could improve it would be appreciated.
(Note: We used the locations for the Hunter Missions from the original guide because we thought that they were quite helpful).

This is the first level of the game, and is somewhat of a training level. Just follow Ned through the level and the game will explain what you need to do. Once you reach the end of the level Ned will be attacked by a Grizzly Bear, just pick up Ned’s rifle and shoot the bear a few times in the head for effectiveness and it will die, once it is dead the achievement will unlock.

Once the mission begins you will find yourself in a steamboat which is being over run by some renegades. Your objective is simply to repel them and survive, along with ensuring Ned’s survival, though he can really look after him self on easier difficulties. Once you unblock the water paddle, Ned will tell you to go onto the cannon, this part is relatively easy, just shoot the incoming boats and hit the fort. Once the boat has run aground, you will need to reach the top of the deck with Ned, once there; the attackers will climb over the sides of the boat, and will run down the walkways. Just fend them off until an achievement appears, signalling the end of the level.

After a series of cut scenes you will find yourself facing a couple of horses, walk up to yours (the one on the right), and press Y to mount it. Follow Tom to the center of the meadow and he will give you a basic tutorial about how to ride your horse. Once he has finished teaching you he will lead you to the start of the race, stand inside the gold circle facing the direction as Tom, as soon as he says “Go” you will need to race him around the edge of this area for three laps, it is a fairly straight forward race with a couple of jumps, but as long as you maintain some speed by spurring your horse and stick to the main route you will be able to beat Tom with ease, just be careful not to spur your horse too much or it will die and you will need to restart the mission. Once you win the race Tom will ask you to follow him to the center of the meadow again, just follow his instructions, once you finish with the bottles some wolves will come and attack, kill them and a cut scene will occur, once the cut scene ends you will need to kill Tom and his two allies, and when they are dead the achievement will unlock.

At the start of this mission you will need to head to Dodge City, to do this just follow the “Trail to Dodge” and once you reach the river a cut scene will occur, (so much for the days ride…). Once the cut scene ends you will be on a raft crossing the river, get back on your horse and follow the compass to the Alhambra Saloon, and when you get there talk to the bar tender for a cut scene. Once the cut scene ends you will be behind the bar and you will need to make your way upstairs and kill all of the gang members. When you reach jenny you will need to kill the gang member holding her, use quick draw to get a head shot on him and another cut scene will occur. After the cut scene you will need to head downstairs and kill the gang members who are carrying torches to try and set fire to the saloon. As soon as they are dead, head outside and kill the remaining gang members, the best option here is to get on the horse outside the saloon so that you can take down the gang quickly. When they are all dead go back inside the Saloon and a cut scene will occur, as soon as it ends use quick draw and try to kill as many gang members as possible (including Crude), once they are all dead the achievement will unlock.

After you’ve talked to Pat Denton, your objective is to kill the Indians that attack the railroad bridge. First head down the cliff path and shoot the Indians, with whatever weapon you deem fit. Close range - shotgun, Medium to long range - rifle. When you reach the other side, head down the cliff path again and kill the Indians, again. Once you have done that wait for the “transport” to arrive, to take you over. (DO NOT SHOOT THE TNT BARRELS), It is best to throw them off the side when you can, while remembering to kill the Indians that will climb over the sides. You will receive some attacks whilst on the “transport.” And when you leave the “transport”, kill the remaining enemies. Head back up the path to the top for another cut scene. All you now have to do now is protect the Chinese workers and Pat Denton, from the Indians. Remember to switch your weapons for efficiency. Next, you have to use quick draw to shoot the fire arrows in the air, before they hit the TNT barrels. You will also receive some attacks by some Indians that will run directly towards you, shoot the torch bearers first, with quick draw. When they are dead you have to kill “Quick Killer,” it is best to just shoot him in the head, and using quick draw helps. Remember not to shoot the TNT yourself, and the achievement will unlock when “Quick Killer” is dead.

Once the mission begins head over to Jenny and press Y to talk to her, after a cut scene you will find yourself on a horse next to the stage coach, stay ahead of the coach and kill any Indians that you come across making sure that they do not attack the coach. Eventually you will reach an area that is blocked by some rocks, get off your horse and go through the small gap to the right of the blockade, kill any Indians that you see and follow your compass to find the TNT barrels. Pick up a barrel and place it in the highlighted area then shoot it from a safe distance. Once the blockade has been destroyed get back on your horse and continue the mission making sure no Indians attack the coach. Once you reach a certain point a cut scene will occur and you will need to defend Jenny and the coach from the incoming Indians, eventually more Indians will come on horses but if you search around you can find some TNT to place a trap for them. Once they are all dead another cut scene will occur and you will find yourself on top of the coach, just crouch down and make sure to kill all of the Indians as you progress through the mission. As you get further through the mission some Indians will arrive on wagons, just use quick draw to shoot the barrels of TNT on them and they won’t bother you any more. Once you reach Empire City you will unlock the achievement.

Follow Rudabaugh and Webb, to the tavern, and once you get there you will run into some trouble, kill the guys shooting at you and a cut scene will occur. Now get onto the horse and follow the rebel. Be careful of the incoming enemies on horseback and once you get to the ranch there are a few enemies on foot so take care of them. Now its time to kill Webb and Rudabaugh. Rudabaugh has a shotgun on foot, so be careful. Take cover by one of the stables and use quick draw to shoot him in the head. Now kill Webb who is on horseback, use the hay bails outside as cover and shoot him as he rides past. A shotgun well aimed can deal some serous damage to him. Once they are both dead the achievement will unlock.

When the mission begins you will find yourself in a jail cell, talk to Port and he will tell you to kill the guard. Wait until the guard falls against your cell wall and Soapy will tell you to kill the guard, once he is dead follow Soapy’s instructions to break out of the cell. Grab your equipment from the guard’s desk and then head outside. Equip your bow and head to one of the horses, quietly kill all of the guards and take the horse back to the bridge. Repeat this for two more horses. Once all three horses have been stashed under the bridge, head over to the livery and throw a couple of Whiskey Bombs at the highlighted area, then follow the compass to find some barrels of TNT, kill any guards that are near and take the TNT back to the jail, place it in the highlighted area, stand back and blast Soapy free. Go back under the bridge and hop on a horse, then all you need to do is follow Port back to the rebel hideout, once you get there, the achievement will unlock.

At the start of the level simply follow Clay to the destination, once you are there place the TNT onto the target area. After the cut scene follow Clay to the train, and when you reach the train kill all of the enemies on and around the train, eventually more enemies come on horseback. Again, quick draw is very helpful here. When you are done killing, back track all the way to the tunnel area, where you first started. (Be there before the train gets there.) Place the last TNT, and wait at the top of the ledge, be ready to shoot the TNT barrel when you are told. Now eliminate all of the remaining enemies on the train. Once everybody if dead the achievement will unlock.

When the mission begins follow Chavez to the bridge, pull out your new Sniper Rifle and hold off the enemies, if they get too close use your rifle. Keep killing the enemies until Clay can get the gatling gun working again. When they are all dead go down to Clay and hop on the Gatling Gun, keep shooting all of the enemies that appear and once they are all dead go and talk to Port. Next you will need to make your way over to the cannon, you best bet is to use the sniper rifle to kill whoever is on the cannon at that time and then use your rifle to pick off the other guards, take it slow especially on harder difficulties and once you get to the cannon press Y to use it, kill all of the enemies that come towards you and once they are all dead the achievement will unlock.

First of all get onto your horse and follow Port to the destination. Make sure to cover him as he moves the cannon into Empire. There are a few enemies as you would expect, but it is nothing you should not be able to handle, just stick to the general path of the cannon and you will be fine. When the cannon is in place, use it yourself to blow up every enemy that you see coming. Next when you have finished head into the laundry building and kill the enemies inside. Make your way though the tunnels, killing the enemies as you go. When you reach the end of the tunnels, grab the TNT barrel and place it on the zone indicated and shoot it to blow open the door. (Best stock up on ammo in the room where you got the barrel.) Once you get to Clay, kill the two guys and untie Clay then move on forward. Now its time to take down Hoodoo. There’s a few guys around so be sure to kill them, and be wary of the smoke, as it becomes harder to see the enemies. Once his men are dead, focus on Hoodoo, he normally stays upstairs, so take a few shots at him with whatever is best. (Note: You can shoot those chandeliers so they fall and cause a fire. This is good at taking down Hoodoo when he is hiding). Finally kill Hoodoo after the cut scene. Just shoot him a few times and he will die, unlocking the achievement.

Once the mission starts you will need to head over to the water tower with Pat, kill any enemies that you see on the way there and then climb up to the top of the tower. Next use the Sniper Rifle to shoot the rope around Soapy’s neck before he dies, once he is free use your rifle to kill any enemies that try to kill Soapy, and soon some enemies will appear on top of the building across from you, use your rifle to kill them quickly. Next some gang members will come on horses so head down to Soapy and kill them with whatever you see fit. When they are all dead get on a horse and follow Soapy to the dock, killing any enemies on the way, once you get there talk to the “Ferry Operator” to begin crossing the river. Use your sniper rifle to kill the enemies that appear on the cliffs and then use your normal rifle to shoot the rope once you reach the other side, this will cause the other ferry to drift away down a waterfall. Once everyone is dead the achievement will unlock.

When the mission starts it is your job to find all three captive Apaches. Rescue them by pressing Y to grab the guards who are beating them up and then press X to execute them. Once it is done, they will ask you to follow them as part of the deal. “Follow in our footsteps” as he says. Stick close to them and follow his instructions. Once you reach a certain point Soapy will pick the lock and you make your escape into the caves. Again follow the Apaches, and you will be given a bow to use to acquire silent kills. Do so, on the guards, and it is best to wait until they are apart so they won’t be alerted. Get you guns back and continue. Kill the remaining guards in your path until you get to the horses and follow the Apache warriors to the end. They will say to meet them at the Apache village, so rush there and be prepared for a fight with some men. Once this is done the achievement will be unlocked.

As soon as the mission begins you will be getting shot at by cannons and gatling guns, head around this area towards the canoes, killing any enemies in your way. Once you are in the canoe be sure to kill the enemies that come out to shoot you, and when you get out of the canoe follow the path through the cave until you are inside the fort, now you will need to kill every enemy that you see and make your way up to the buildings with the canons inside. When you reach the first cannon use it to destroy the four bunkers, and then head into the next room and use that cannon to destroy all of the boats in the river. Keep going until you get to the third cannon and use it to kill any enemies that appear, and once they are dead use it to blow a hole in the building across from you. Get off the cannon and fight your way to the last cannon, once you get to it take cover and throw some dynamite at it until it is destroyed (note: if you run out of dynamite there is some more down stairs). Once the final cannon is destroyed the achievement will unlock.

When the mission starts you will be in a boss battle with Hollister, take cover behind the rocks and shoot him with the Shotgun which deals the most damage, once his health reaches a certain point a cut scene will occur, when it ends follow the compass and Hollister will run out at you pumped full of dynamite, retreat backwards, away from him and he will blow up. (note: now that you have the Ferguson rifle, and you will want to use it for the next part of the level), continue towards the steamboat and Reeds men will come and attack you on horseback, once they are all dead another cut scene will happen and when it ends you will need to fight Reed. Your best bet is to get on a horse and chase reed, just keep close to him so that he can not regain his health and use the rifle to kill him. Once he is dead the achievement will unlock.

First go down to “Many Wounds”, get on the horse and follow him to the destination. Once you reach the house you will encounter some enemies, make sure that Soapy and Many Wounds do not die and kill all of the enemies. After the fight, follow Soapy to the next destination. When you reach the mountain, continue to follow Soapy as he goes up the mountain, there are a few Mountain Lions there but its nothing to difficult, once you reach the top of the mountain the achievement will unlock.

Straight away you will be under attack on the mountain, use the TNT barrels to your advantage, and make your way down the mountain bit by bit, being careful as you go. There’s more enemies than you think and there’s also a gatling gun to be wary of. Keep following the path until you reach Soapy. Next a train will come, so ride fast and be careful of Dutchie on the cannon. If you leave your horse and enter the tunnel where the train is. It’s a good spot to use as cover, were you can just pick off the riders. Once everybody is dead the achievement will unlock.

As soon as the mission begins get onto the cannon and destroy the gatling guns in the windows, then kill any enemies on the ground. Once they are dead you will need to progress through this first area killing everybody as you go. When you come to the mine door use the cannon to blast it open, now you will just need to make your way through the mine, killing everyone as you go, eventually you will reach a turntable and you need to hold off the enemies until your men have finished turning it, as soon as the turntable is in position hop back on the cannon and eventually a cut scene will occur. Next you will need to make you way through the next part of the mine on foot, and you can use the TNT to your advantage, once you reach Magruder a cut scene will occur and when it ends you will need to kill him, use the Dynamite Bow, or just normal Dynamite to cause the gas pockets to explode when Magruder is near them, do this enough times and he will retreat up onto a ledge, use your rifle and shoot him in the head, he will then throw a large cluster of Dynamite at you, use quick draw to destroy it and shake the cavern, do this enough times and the achievement is yours, Congratulations you have completed the game.

In order to start these side missions you will need to reach certain points in the game, there are a total of 12 missions that need completing, five in Dodge City, and seven in Empire City, you can recieve the missions in Dodge by talking to Pat Denton who is opposite the Shopkeeper, and by talking to the Federal Marshal who is outside Hoodoo's Casino in Empire City. Once you complete them all the achievement will unlock.

40http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Win the Texas Holdem Tournament side mission.
To start the poker side quests speak to the dealer in the Alhambra Saloon, he will give you the first tournament; all you need to do is beat the other three contestants to win. There are six games in total, three in Dodge City (Alhambra Saloon), and three in Empire City (Hoodoo's Casino). Once you beat them all the achievement will unlock.

For the Pony Express missions, all you need to do is reach each destination within the given time limit, they are fairly easy, just make sure not to kill your horse but spurring it too much. There are ten missions in total, six in Dodge City and four in Empire City. Once you complete them all the achievement is yours.

For this achievement you need to complete all of the Ranch Hand missions, they are all fairly straightforward and mostly require you to heard animals for the Rancher. There are seven missions in total and the achievement will unlock when you complete them all.

There are a total of forty four pieces of gold in GUN, they are all spread about the map and some are more difficult to find than others. In order to begin mining you need to purchase a Pickaxe from the store in Dodge City for $15. Once you have it you are able to mine any gold that you happen to come across in your travels.

You can begin the Hunter missions by talking to the Indian Hunter located west of Magruder’s Mine, near the Indian Trader. In total there are six missions to complete.

Grey Wold – Found at Dodge City railroad tracks or at the Hecht Ranch.
Great White Buffalo – Found in the Badlands, near the old house.
White Wolf – Found at the Indian Trader or at a house in Devils Slot Canyon.
Great Mountain Lion – Found in the mining camp across from Magruder’s Mine.
Black Wolf – Found in the Badlands, near the old house or Blackfeet Territory.
Father of all Grizzlies – You will get a notification of where it is, it is west of Empire City.Once you have completed every mission, the achievement will unlock.

To start the Bounty Hunter side missions all you need to do is locate a “Wanted Poster”, these can be found in either Dodge or Empire and in certain places outside of the cities. All you need to do is locate the wanted people and either kill them or capture them depending upon the mission, there are twelve missions in total and the achievement will unlock when you have finished them all.

Upgrades can be purchased from any of the three traders in the game, these can be found in Empire City, Dodge City or the Indian Trader near Magruder’s Mine. In total there are 30 upgrades worth $1080, meaning you are going to need to mine all of the gold and complete plenty of side missions. Once you buy them all the achievement will unlock.

In order to unlock this achievement you will need to unlock every weapon in the game, the majority of them are given to you as you progress through the storyline, and you gain another when you complete it. However in order to get the final weapon you need to acquire 100% completion meaning you need to do every main mission and side mission in the game.

Ok first of all let’s say this, you will NOT unlock the achievements for completing Easy, Normal, and Hard if you beat the game on Insane, you are going to have to play the game four times, once on each difficulty, it is recommended that you start at easy and progress towards Insane because then you will have a good understanding about the game. Here are some helpful tips that should help you get through Insane Mode.

Don’t forget to look around corners, this helps to pick off enemies without being fully exposed, to do this just press http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/leftdpad.png or http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/rightdpad.png.
Never rush into an area, stay back and pick off enemies with a sniper or a rifle, you WILL die if you try to be a hero.
Always ensure you have a full whiskey bottle and ammo before starting a new mission, there's nothing worse than running out of ammo in the middle of a fight.
Complete as many side missions as possible so that your stats increase as your progress through the game.
Buy a Pickaxe and mine some gold, then go and buy as many upgrades as you can afford, they do help.
Good luck and if you manage to complete the game on Insane Mode, Congratulations.

Alternatively if you are having a lot of trouble with the game and you are sure that you won't be able to complete it, you can use the following cheat to unlock all of the levels so you can skip to the final part of Magruder's fight and still unlock the achievements.

All you need to do is stand between the two rocks at the begining of the game and hold http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/lb.png + http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/lt.png + http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/rb.png + http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/rt.png + http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/a.png until you hear a strange sound, this will unlock the GUN menu under options. Please see the video below for instuctions on how to get to the two rocks.
