I don't think it's a direct ripoff, maybe their subconscious accidentally borrowed some ideas.
The advertisement is for an mp3 player, and it's basically just saying that music will follow you everywhere, as shown by the big mass of instruments following him.

Not to mention the fact that it's floating, not rolling and there are things behind it coming down the street toward it, like the mp3 player is a magnet for good music.
In Katamari, you pick up objects but these objects are drawn to the mp3 player.
