You mean the plot?
Nope. And if you want the Achievements you need to pay attention as well

The talking between Al Mualim is just story and adds to the overall game...during the assassinations (after you kill your target) you need to pay attention so you can get the Hungerer of Knoledge achievement...hope you been pressing that A button during a "glitch" in the memory. If not you might want to start doing that so you can get your 85%. Good luck!

Try pacing Altair around during the conversations-- walk out that aggression! Also the conversations last just long enough to hit the bathroom and grab another beer... just saying.

I can see what your saying, like if you screw up an informer's assassination and have to listen again. I admit it did get annoying at times, but it's only a minute. Won't kill you to wait. ;)

The story is truly one of the strongest assets to this game, if you didn't pay any attention i do suggest going back through it simply for that.

Yeah, the Al Mualim conversations can be a bit much, especially when your only goal is to go collect the 420 flags. (I wonder if that in itself is an Easter Egg)
