View Full Version : The Clan Award...

Now many people here may hate me for suggesting this but I feel maybe we should reconsider either having the clan award, or just giving it out freely. An award is given for having accomplished something or at the discretion of the staff giving it to you for being an outstanding member to the site. I feel like the award should be given like a varsity jacket is awarded to sports teams, once you have completed a certain number of matches with the clan or something to that extent. Does anyone else agree or is this feeling not at all mutual.

If you're in the clan you get it. That's the way it is.
Are you in the clan? If so, I'll let someone know you should have it.

Not at all mutual. Because you have to meet certain requirements to be in the clan.
But I do think the people that never play w/ any of us should be kicked out. I don't like how people are "in the clan" but they never play with any of us and never accept our invites.

Maybe a minimum clan activity level would be good. Like if you don't show up for matches, you should just be kicked out. Activity levels to be determined by individual clan leaders.
Speaking of clan activity, I'm still not sure how gamebattles works. I have an account, but not a member of any clan on that site.

I am but thats not why I was posting, I know thats the way it is, I was just trying to bring something a little different to the table. Thats all.

^^ I agree with that^^ It was part of the base idea of what I was getting at, just kicking them out is a little harsh considering you never no why they couldn't or didn't play.

It doesn't really matter to me. I think people should stay active on the clan forum to stay in the clan.

Yea, I don't think that we should tighten the restrictions on getting the award, rather we should make it 'easier' to be kicked out due to inactivity. It's pretty much the same thing, at the end only the active members of the clan get a medal.

i still haven't gone through the roster with the seniors to see who is really inactive and active, but hopefully i will get that done sometime this week, but that is being hopeful,

Will they be kicked out, or warned/demoted?

I agree... The first day I noticed the clan forum I was able to count 10+people with the reward. Just doesn't seem right you hand 'em out here and I spend 12 weeks of my life in the gamerscore league scoring 23,000 points, and I am unworthy of a reward for finishing 3rd.
EDIT: Probably fifith... 4 xbox 360's have died on my team alone.

Yes. It should be based of activity of the clan members. Some should participate with the clan friendly matches, talk in the forum, connect with the community and others of the such. Inactivity always needs to be deallt with nicely. I mean, my 360 has no activity right now because it's out of town on repair, but if something like that happens, he/she should contact a clan senior. The medal is an award, who only the good deserve.

How do we decide activity??
I mean what if someone works 5-6 days and week and can only play once a week?? Is that active or not?

I guess you could base it off their online activity as well. If anyone is like that, they should announce that so they don't get kicked. I work 5 days myself, and on top of school, I game Fridays and Saturdays. As long as they stay connected to the forums and hang out on XBL, they should be OK, IMO. :p
I guess I have been slacking on my clan duties myself and that does make me feel like somewhat of a free loader for still receiving the award. Hopefully once my xbox's internet starts working again I can get in on some of the clan games or at least some friendly scrimmages.
I don't have the best of time available to me. I work 5 days a week, including Saturday, so I'm only on a few hours a night.
Plus what makes it even harder for me is being from the UK. Not all of you are on at 4-7pm when I'm on 9-12pm.
Also, there's just some points in time when I just can't be bothered to play multiplayer, or play a certain game. I'm either achievement hunting or gripped with a game's campaign. This is understandable for anyone though.
I think I suck at COD4 anyways, and I don't play Halo 3 that often. I'm still up for a bit of 'sparring' though.

People don't need to ask for the award .. thats why there are Clan Seniors we will keep an eye on Non-activity, People who need the clan award, people who need it taken away, and so on and so on .. be patient and you'll get your just desserts .. the clan isn't here for you to get an award, and then never play with any of us. Before attempting to join the clan ask yourself some questions that will help you in the long run .. don't join because it seems like the thing to do .. join because you like gaming as a clan and because you have the time to devote to it.
