Nero or Dante?

Who do you find easier to use and get combos with? I personally find Nero easier to use, and i'm not even using is Exceed gauge, i need to learn to use that. I found that although Dante had loads of combos he lacked in weapon combos....

Alright, Nero is easier to use, right, I agree with you on that point. But I like using Dante better. I mean, I've gone through the games playing as Dante, and most of his combos and attacks stay the same. Now, granted, he gets much cooler weapons and crap in this game

The question was asking "Dante or Nero?" but it didn't say to put who you think is easier to use. Now, Nero was hard to get used to at first, but he was easy to get used to. I like Dante better because of the fact that his combos and skills are much better than Nero's.

I like Nero and all, but Dante kills people.

nero the best his attitude and what is says in the game is way cooler than dante
i loved the fight cutscene with the pair fighting at the start
when nero just jumps in the air and kicks dante smack right in the face with both feet
and his demonic arm is cool , he is also alot easyier to do combos and stuff with

For ease Nero but I prefer Dante. Nero might as well not has a gun when he can use the devil bringer to grab or travel long distances waste of time to not just keep it close-quarter combat

i find it much easier to string together s combos with nero personally, dante you either have to get lucky or switch styles up for a super long combo

Dante by far. Nero, obviously, is designed as a beginner's character, with a vastly limited moveset and several overly cheap/easy mechanics. Most people who prefer Nero probably just haven't played previous titles, or don't want to take the time to get used to switching up weapons and styles fluidly during a fight.

I mean, I could rack up a SSS as Dante without ever using the same move twice, or just stand in the middle of the screen scoring Royal Blocks and taunting for SSS. There's a lot of diversity if you learn the character.

Since it's been a year since I've really played DMC before this, Nero really helped me get back into the game and the basics since he's really easy to use. Dante is really for the more advanced players.

I guess I'd have to go with Dante, but still Nero is a really good character.

Nero is cool but I think Dante is better. Its easier to combo with Nero but experts will find his combos boring. Dante's combos are sick; if Nero can interchange multiple weapons like Dante does, then maybe he'll be cooler than him.

I agree with most of the other people here, Nero is easy to use. Especially with that demon arm, but i found that dante was alot more fun and kicks so much ass.

Swordmaster style maxed out is outstanding, quite a few rebellion combos, then just switch to giglamesh, whack out a few of those, then switch back. I found lucifer a bit slow to build the combo gauge though.

Well I like using both characters but I think all things considered I'd choose Nero, I like the speed the Devil Arm gives you.

I voted Dante only beacuse he's a sick head, his personality gives me jokes & iv'e played with him since the DMC franchise begun but hey don't get me wrong i like Nero as well just not as much as Dante only because Nero feels to basic.

Dante he gets more weapons and has some easier combos than nero the demon arm is crap i think anyway.

If you know everything about Dante then you will glide right through everything. But Nero is easy Combo but less damage etc.

I voted nero, I love the devil bringer, I was dissapointed when I had to switch off after mission 11. I missed the arm from then til the final mission.

Dante. I like Nero and all but it doesn't feel right if I don't play as Dante.

Dante is the best and thats all there is too it. As far as combos go it is really easy to get a SSS with both characters its all about style, if you aint got that you aint got shite! plus i can get a SSS whenever so i just perfer to play as dante he's a BAMF!!

I'm currently better with Nero but I would like to improve playing as Dante. He seems much more capable of sick combos with this different styles available.

With Dante at the start I thought he was crap but once I got used to it I loved using him:

And I was really disappointed to use Nero again when your in the Saviour.

Well I think this is a very good question and I'd like to examine the pros and cons of each character in combat.

Nero
+ Dodging/Movement - Grip
+ Buster and Buster super-combos
+ Exceed Combos

Dante
+ Dodging/Movement - Trickster
+ Additional Weapons
+ Style Combos

If you really think about it, these are the important differences. Personally I think in general Nero is better for bosses with the grip to reel you in and buster combos which can do almost half the damage to a boss if you use them enough and Dante is better for raising style with his plethora of weapons and combos and overall dodging considering trickster.

Now to decide who to use for the Bloody Palace. It really just depends on your play style and preferences, neither one is really that much better than the other. Still I think I'll go for Nero, that grip and buster seem to make the lack of dash and other weapons not so bad, and I don't have to worry about switching as well. I never did like the other swords or the Royal Guard style or the Gunslinger style for that matter except for the Pandora moves. I'll definetly miss Pandora when it comes to long range attacks and those damn Blitz.

Yea i understand what people mean by Dante being cooler, but DMC4 is the only game in the series i have played, and Nero's exceed gauge and devil bringer arm are winners. I just still cant string combos together with Dante. I'm still going for Nero, but Dantes DT is cooler.
