No, it's the DS version of the game, which is definitely not AC nr. 2 in terms of gameplay and story.

Assassins creed is the first in a trilogy.

Q. Why only the one power?
A. Be patient! Assassin's Creed is the first part of a trilogy. By the end of the third game Desmond will have a lot more moves to play with...

You think the next one will take place in ancient Mexico City with the Aztecs?

You think the next one will take place in ancient Mexico City with the Aztecs? lol. doubt it. but that would be cool. don't know of many aztec assassin's though. what would be cooler is in the future. having a sniper. and hopefully the wind doesn't blow lasers:mad:!

It would completly ruin the games appeal if they made it in modern times with guns. Was so refreshing having a game that didnt involve just running round shooting people.

PLEASE, UBISOFT -- do not make another medieval Japanese ninja game. Do not go from an original and untouched setting -- the Holy Land during the Third Crusades -- and then get lazy by putting out just another ninja game and calling it AC2.
Some cool ideas:
Ancient China
Tsarist Russia
Colonial America (could easily tie-in with Templar storyline)
Europe during the Napoleonic Wars

I could see them pulling off a modern time version of the game. Except the enemies have guns and you don't. That would easily fit in with Desmond being the main man next time around....;)

As far as I can tell, Altair's story is done. The point of Altair was to show us who the Templars and Assassin's are, and what each party's goal was. He was also used to further Abstergo's goals. Now that they know what they need Altair, I really don't see he could fit in with sequels.

We won't really know what to expect from a sequel until Ubisoft starts to reveal info on it. Who knows what it could be...;)

I like the Ancient China idea and think the ending plays into that being a possible setting. I'm sure the 3rd one might be set in the future. Laser snipers though? We can only dream.....

you guys are all kida dumb, if youve ever beaten the game, which means you got to the last level, you saw that the old profeser said that they would need altair to show them if there are any traps or any thing that they dont know about when they look for the orb ball masyaf had.
so there will most likely be an asasins creed to in the same time, not in mexico, not in the future, not in japan, or any where else.

but sequels always ruin things but hunting the other "items" would be good if it was in altair's times

No you're "kida dumb"... whatever that means. We're not saying the sequels won't be in the present but we're saying they may have him go through the memories of another anscestor in another era.

There's also the possibility that you'll play as Altair again. The memories from the first game just end with him looking at the relic. Its not outside the realm of possibility that Desmond will need to go back to Altair's memories for them to see what he did with the relics. Of course, other ancestors are possible too.

A sequel will certainly be great. They should consider adding more weapons and investigation types to avoid repetitiveness. A crossbow would be nice.

Storywise, I think the sequels will still be in the middle eastern, middle ages era.

After I finished the game I was thinking what the next game would be like. and am hoping they don't start using guns. Which is the thing I'm most afraid of, it would kind of ruin the core gameplay of the first. and turn it into another generic third person shooter.

I am just totally in the dark with what they could possibly due, considering at the end they were moving into modern times. hmmm dunno

Before you call anyone dumb you should probably learn to spell, and maybe spend a little more time listening to your "profeser", and do your English homework........no offense.

That's a little harsh dude. Just ask for him to tidy up posts. But onto the main topic, I am pretty sure that the second game will obviously revolve around Desmond but since the memories are in his DNA, I don't think the setting will be in China or anything like that. If we knew more about Desmond's ancestors (and I doubt we will), then it would be easier to predict a time period

Just want to add my 2$ to this convo. Only really scan read the replys but someone said somthing about guns.
Well when the Assassins are attacking the complex and Vidic holds down the speaker button, you can hear guns firing and the guards saying 'we're taking heavy fire'. I doubt that means lots of little knives are flying there way (maybe though).

Just somthing to add in.

I think the two greatest ideas for the location of the sequel are Ancient China, or somewhere around that area; or same time period, different place, like the Medieval(sp?) Ages but set in England.

what i havent seen mentioned yet is the fact that it has to be DESMOND'S ancestor, and thus the odds of it being a japanese/chinese/aztec assassin goes down, as desmond isn't any of those races as far as we can tell. thoughts?

True, that thought had totally escaped me. It also depends exactly how related they have to be.

Because we don't know the EXACT relationship b/w desmond and altair.

Actually, you're the "kida dumb" one. It was Lucy who said that, and the reason for that was to keep Desmond alive following the suited man's instruction to Vidic to have him killed.

As far as a sequel is concerned, I thought it obvious that it'll be Desmond vs Abstergo.
