I know there is a ton of threads regarding missing flags, but none that really give any advice as to how to fix missing flags--if this is even possible. I've heard mention of "clearing the cache" to get the flag to come back etc. but aside from that I have heard very little concrete advice as to what worked. If you were able to get a missing flag to "come back" please take a second and respond with what worked for you.
At any rate, let me give you a little back story into my Assassin's Creed experience. For the most part, most of my achievements unlocked as expected with the exception of the Keeper of the Four Gospels (Jerusalem Flags), Keeper of the Cresent (Damascus Flags), and Personal Vendeta (Kill all the Templars).
Real quick, before I get a bunch of responses saying I missed a flag, or overlooked it, or picked it up and didn't mark it off properly--I played through twice, using the maps that Firestorm (you are the man by the way) created and the flags were at times exactly where they were supposed to be. The problem I ran into was that all 100 weren't there at the same time, hence no achievement. And when I say I played through twice, I checked every flag spot twice on my first playthrough, and then restarted another game and did the same. The issue I am running into is that the flags simply didn't spawn.
Real quick, with Jerusalem, Flag 30 in the Rich District was simply not there. I went systematically around the map (not necessarily in order of numbers, but went to ones that were close to me), went to Flag 30 and it was gone. I had not picked it up, my flag count up to that point was correct. I decided to call it a night and come back the following day. The following day, I rechecked my flag count and it mysteriously went up. And when I say it went up, it went up alot as in 5 flags that mysteriously just appeared out of the blue. -- Bear in mind I gave up the night before and had not continued to pick up anything after I realized one was missing. At any rate, I continued to collect, and unlocked the achievement but there was 5 flags on my map that were not crossed off when it unlocked.
For the Personal Vendetta achievement, again using Firestorms maps (thank you for that) #5 in Kingdom (the one across the bridge you jump over) was simply not there. 59/60 here. I came back several times and after awhile he magically appeared.
For the Keeper of the Cresent Flag achievement, the first time I played through. #7 and #21 in the Poor District were gone. I never picked them up, watched my counter go up every time, etc. The simply never spawned. After trying what seemed like everything, I decided it was pointless and started a new game.
After I started the new game, I went straight to #7 and #21, both were there. I was happy, got all 33 here, knock out the assassination, continued playing until Damascus Rich was available (block 3 I believe). Same thing 1-33 here in order, no problems. Continued on to block 5 to unlock Damascas Middle. Did nothing except look for flags. 1,2,3,4, went for #5. Gone. Simply never spawned.
Ok so here is what I tried:
Immediately turned the machine off, reloaded, rechecked.
Turned machine off again, went to dashboard, and hit YXX LB RB XX to perform maintenance.
Still didn't respawn, restarted again, this time hold the A button in.
Restarted again, this time holding LB and RB in simultaneously (got different reports on how to clear the cache, so I tried them all).
I tried playing with and without the update being installed, no help there either.
Still nothing so I tried climbing a Highpoint as one person recommended.
Nothing, so I saved a Citizen, Interrogated a guy, Pickpocketed, Killed a Templar, Informer Quest, Eavesdrop--everything. Checking each time. Nothing.
I read another post that said #34 doesn't spawn till the guys go out and start burning books, tried that--nothing. Got the other 33 flags (have 99/100) now, still never spawned.
At any rate, I didn't make a mistake. I didn't so much as even alert a guard, went straight for the flags and my 5th flag was gone. (I got this one my first playthrough but it never spawned on my second).
So, I guess the whole reason that I am posting this is in hopes that anyone that got a flag to "come back" would respond and let the rest of us know how you did it.
Is there another method of clearing the cache other than what I tried? Any help would be appreciated. (As much as I want a full 1000 in this game, playing through a 3rd time is not looking all the appealing at this point. Who's to say yet another flag will or will not glitch?).
