I got an idea and have no idea if this has been mentioned before or not.

A forum called "x360a Times". In it we can have plenty of things like.

Monthly Newletters of what went down in the forums (something useful for the press team)
Members who have reach 1000, 5000, 10000 posts can show off.

If someone earned number of awards like 10 etc he/she can let everyone know

If someone is leaving the site and would like to say goodbye, it's his/her chance.

If someone is returning after a long hard break he can tell everyone he is back to make an impact.

If it's someone's birthday too and so on.

People can congratulate these guy's for there hard work

I hope you got the overall idea of what i mean here, cause i couldn't find a way to put this in to some sensible words lol.

I like this.

While we already have the annual podcasts, a weekly or fortnightly newsletter would be nice to have. The idea would take some fine tuning, but I think it would work.

Well, since we are on the topic, the term, "he/she," is no longer proper English.;)

I'm not sure theres any need for a newsletter when everything is pretty much covered in the podcast, but it could be a good idea for those who choose not to listen to the podcast, due to a lack of time or other reasons. Mods/Ads, what ya think? I'd be up for giving writing a newsletter a go.

maybe it could get sent through e-mail ?

You know I'd have to say that a newsletter would be a great idea and could be used as a supplement to the podcast. However I think it would be best come in the form of an html coded email that would allow recipients to click on links taking them to different big news stories, threads, announcements or what have you. It could be something worked out in conjunction with the podcast and would give others another option to get the information. Not everyone has the time to sit down and listen to the podcast and there might actually be some who aren't fond of it. Something like this would allow them to scan through whats going on with the site or gaming world that might interest them and click to find out more.

I think the p.c. term is transexual :p

I really dont listen to the podcast. So i would prefer if there was written information of what went down. It can be e-mailed or a forum, but ya e-mail sounds much better because i always sign up for lots of newsletters.

All of that is pretty much covered in the podcast. Its not a bad idea though but theres a happy birthday thread and a calender..There are awards for post milestons and the awards are on show so no need to talk about them in a thread i dont think. :)

I suggested this in 500k, 50k give-away contest thing.

Now I would like to see a newsletter type thing, maybe like once a week or once every two weeks. Just to pretty much give us updates about upcoming games, news about the forums, maybe even an interview with the staff. :(

I think its a good idea, my thoughts on this is that it could be sent out every fortnight via email. Members could submit their email if this wish to receive it, like someone else suggested, some people may not get time to check out the podcast, but with an emailed newsletter people could check it at work etc.

As for content, pretty much anything news related, upcoming game release dates ? maybe an interview with someone from the staff team once a month ? game reviews ?

I'd be keen to help out any way possible should this idea progress further. ;)

I think this is a great idea! Some sort of 'public e-lounge room'.

Yea this idea would be great, and it should be published on a thread and via email, I will help to becuase I usually know first hand when a game comes out, if it's any good, and what the Achievements are, but i'm sure you guys and girls do to!

You would be surprised at how FEW posts are not read by admins and moderators... I don't want to say that every single one is, but the vast majority are covered.

This sounds like a great idea to me, I rarely get chance to listen o the Podcast, as if I'm at home on my computer, I'm usually playing on my 360, therefore it would not have my full concentration, I could then read the e-mail at school.

This would be a good idea. Then the graffix team can mess around with it to make it all fancy and colorful and stuff

There is no chance of it being emailed out, due to the number of users. Drains resources waaaaaay too much and we get complaints as well.

Plus, the people that are on the forums regularly see most stuff, this would only really assist fringe members. The idea seems to me a forum prettu much purely for peoples ego's, and think they get enough attention already.

Most of the site stuff is done in the podcast- yes not everyone listens, but not everyone will read an email. We cant cover all bases, not enough resources to do so. And the time it woul dtake, the newsletter would only be monthly or 6 weeks, by which point most of it would be old news.

And for the record, between me and Webby, I bet 95% of posts on the forums get read, and what we dont see the mods do.

Aye, aye captain. I see what your trying to say. I'll pretend that i've never heard the last thing you said because not all of them are the same.

I think this is a great idea. It would keep all posts of this variety into one forum too.
