Beating The River Troll

How do you beat the river troll i know you have to turn him into stone but how do you do that? anyone can help it would be appreciated.

throw a gobstone

then shoot him with the watergunthing, alot

im pretty sure you have to throw the tomato bags

I hit it with a few gobstones then summoned up a clone of myself & blasted it with the tomato gun ;)
