I have a feeling this is no ordinary problem so I'll try and describe it as best as I can. I'm really just hoping it's me being really stupid or that someone has seen the same thing.
As a brief reminder for some of you its the level where you have just found out that police chief you killed was also working for the black hand. Then in the level you meet up with Immaculada (or whatever her name is) and assist in breaking into a prison and then rescuing Esperanza.
So onto my problem. (from meeting Immaculada onward)
After speaking with Immaculada I run/drive up the Hill and meet some enemies I promptly deal with. I proceed to the police station and use some explosives to gain access. I walk forward a little bit and get the cutscene and am told to rescue Esperanza.
Here lies my problem, within a few seconds I will always fail the mission becasuse Esperanza is killed. I'm assuming I should make my way to the steps on the far wall but no matter if I try to run like the wind or try to kill anything that moves I just keep failing. Sometimes I seem to get more time than in other attempts, but I have absolutely no idea what is causing it. The furthest I have ever made it is to the top of the stairs without Esperanza being killed.
Anyway I just wanted to ask, am I doing anything wrong? Or is this perhaps a bug? Or should I just be slapped accross the face and told to open my eyes.
Any input would be appreciated :) it's beginning to drive me a little crazy.
