A work in progress. Post all your tips!!!! This a damn hard game especially for the achievements but there has to be a guide. So I volunteer to be the guide...er.

10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgClear mission 11 in Human Mode.

Human Mode is the easiest difficulty in the game. You'll have to fight a few bosses but they shouldn't be difficult. Mission 11 is the mid-point in the story, right before you finally get control of Dante. I recommend starting on this difficulty because your stats will carry over to other difficulties.

Heaven or Hell is unlocked after completing Son of Sparda mode. There are 20 Missions which take about 5-10min each. This mode is actually quite easy considering everything dies in one hit, including yourself. Just use your gun and you'll never run into problems.

After each mission is cleared you are given ranks on the mission time, style points, and red orbs. Try completing each mission as quick as possible but also performing nice combos and collecting as many red orbs as you can. I have received an S ranking after getting an S rank in time, but B's in red orbs and stylish points. So just try your best. You can replay missions at any time to best your score.

When you beat Dante Must Die mode, you receive Super Nero/Dante. It means you have unlimited Devil Trigger (LB). Start Heaven or Hell mode on the last mission and complete it with Super Nero. Very easy actually.

On Mission 11, near the beginning of the mission, there is a statue you have to get an SSS combo on to break for a blue crystal piece. This is the easiest place to get this hard combo. Just keep using different combos. Vary your moves and never do the same thing back to back. Use the Devil Trigger to if you can. Revving your sword up will help you get there fast too. It will take a little while but once you reach an SSS rank on the statue, you will get the "Received Blue Crystal Piece" screen and the achievement will unlock. If you didn't have the S or SS combo achievements, they will unlock the second you reach each rank.

Of course there is an extremely easy way of doing this too. On Mission 9 there is 2 bianco angelos and 1 alto angelo. If you wait alittle bit, they get into alittle group and start charging up a huge black ball. When they are charging it up, I performed a Streak (RB+up+Y) and out of nowhere they exploded and I got an insta-SSS rank. Pretty neat.

This is extremely easy on Mission 01 on Normal Mode. Just be as quick as possible and try not taking damage. It's not hard at all and you should have it in no time.

Collecting blue crystal pieces will get you the blue orbs which increases your health bar or "Vitality Gauge". Follow this (http://sephirosuy.blogspot.com/2008/02/dmc4-blue-orbs.html) guide to help you get all the crystal pieces. You can also buy some from the item section with red orbs. Completing secret missions will also give a crystal piece. When you finally have full health, you must complete a Mission and the achievement will unlock at the score screen.

The Devil Trigger is the little Blue bars below your health. Purple orbs are what you need to add to the gauge. You can buy some in the item section with red orbs. When you finally have them all, you must complete a Mission and the achievement will unlock at the score screen.

You can find some of the items in Missions but your gunna have to spend red orbs to get them all. Everything you can buy with Red Orbs counts as items so this includes: vitality stars, gold orbs, blue orbs, and others. It's gunna take quite a lot of Red Orbs so keep collecting. At the beginning of Mission 3, there is a Red Orb mound to the left of the start. Just destroy the mound, then restart the chapter. You need to buy every thing at the store and collect all of the blue orb fragments, then complete mission 1 with all the items maxed. NOTE: You don't need any Holy Water, the achievement appears to unlock without having the max number...

Just keep doing well on Missions to receive the Proud Souls. Spend them on the different abilities and eventually you will have them all. The bad thing is the more you buy, the more the prices go up. So your gunna need A LOT of proud souls. A nice little trick is just to keep doing Mission 01 as quick as possible to get an S rank and you will keep receiving more and more proud souls.

Can anyone clarify if spending them will still put your total down? Or does it still keep count after you bought something?

IMO, the amount you collected is counted, no matter if you spent some of it during the mission. Otherwise, the score will be too low.

Besides, the grading tracks the number of orbs collected - not the total number of orbs you have when you finished the mission.

I can confirm that it is the total number of proud souls/orbs collected as i got the 100,000 one when i only had about 7,000 orbs

Bloody palace is unlcoked after completeing the game on devil hunter diificulty and not human difficulty so you need to change that :)

Has anyone noticed that like the world top 100 on MGC are Japanese and 3 of them have 1000/1000 it!!!

No problem i will help as much as i can, I have just finished human mode and started devil hunter. As the achievements dont stack for completing difficulties its worth doing it on human 1st to get used to the game and you carry over all your stats from the last game

Man this game is hard... but thank god a guide is starting to take form!

I already finished the game in Devil Hunter dif and I'm currently at level 8 in son of sparda dif... you can't believe the **** i've already been through... I don't want to spoil it, but be prepared for some pretty unpleasant surprises...

I think you mean Hunter Devil Mode and not Human mode.

You can also add when you finish the level 11 and the entire game in Hunter Devil mode, it'll not unlock the succes for Human mode... Grrrrr...

Well the choice is pretty simple he can leave the guide on his PC while he works on it, or he can post it on a site like this and get feedback from people playing the game and reading the guide.

I mean there have already been suggestions that have been made for information to add, these suggestions wouldn't have been made if the guide wasn't here.

So like I said before, give the guide a chance to get some information and it will improve, and if you think that "using snatch alot" will get you killed why not offer some alternatives so the guide gets better.

Here is how to get the item collector achievement:

so u need everything maxed at once, so basically u need to be carrying the maximum number of items at one time right? its not over the course of the game, its all at once, so how many orbs will this take

you just need the buyable blue orbs as far as i know, blue orbs and blue fragments are two different things, since 7 of them are buyable, you also need all the purple orbs, all the golden orbs,and all the other ones maxed out, it cannot be cumulative, this amounts to probably over 150k red orbs or so.

Wrong about the you just need all buyable items maxed out. You need all of them, as well as every single blue orb fragment. I know cause I didn't get the achievement when I bought every item in the shop before chapter 13. It didn't unlock until I got the last blue or fragment in chapter 17, then beat the mission. I also got 2 more achievements for nothing left unsaid, and the vitality achievement.

So in reality you need every buyable item maxed, as well as every blue orb fragment. So if you are going for this achievement you are looking to get 4 achievements for 110 points Since you will get red orb millionaire, mindus vindi(or what ever it is called), Nothing left unsaid, and Item collector achievements just for getting one achievement.

so i guess a good suggestion would be to finish it in devil hunter mode, then do son of sparda... and when you've unlocked super nero/dante do it on dante must die mode... infinite devil trigger should be at least a little relief on dmd mode

No...You unlock Super Nero after you beat DMD mode.

I don't know if this is doing it for everyone, but I have a bit of help in tackling both the Red Orbs and Proud Souls:

1.) Start Mission 3
2.) Run up, kill the three Scarecrows
3.) Go to the Red Orb statue at the beginning
4.) Destroy it for lots of Orbs
5.) Go to the menu and hit Retry mission

Now, that is almost the same "tip" that is listed for the Red Orb achievements, but look. No one mentioned that if you retry the mission, your Proud Souls go UP by almost 100.

So while you're in the process of getting orbs, you can help out your Proud Souls too!

It may not be the biggest boost but it'll help a little.

Nice guide and just to let everyone know I have 1 skill left on both Dante and Nero. When you get up to about 5 skills left each time you buy one it goes up about 10,000 proud souls each time, so the 2nd from last skill for me was about 50,000 proud souls but now the last one costs over 100,000 proud souls just to let everyone know. So lots of playing left to do.

Oh and I think mission 7 is better for collecting the orbs as there are no enemies and done quicker. Here is what i do:
1) Start mission 7
2) Destroy some of the like seed things that old orbs
3) Go round to the orb mount and destroy it
4) Restart the mission and repeat
Thats what i do, hope it helps.

100k for a single skill?!?!:eek: That's way OTT. but I suppose by the time you max out Danté and Nero you'll be at least 6 or so hundred thou towards the proud millionaire. Personally I have Royal Guard (all) and the Table thing for Nero left.

Good guide too! You may want to change the Bloody palace descriptions though as I believe they unlock once you complete BP/die... just in case some people start complaining about "glitching achievements".

You may also want to add that it's much easier with Super Danté/Nero, not only because of the infinite DT, but also by the time you're done with DMD, BP will feel like nothing for the first 30 or so floors.

Ah, I forgot about Super's taking rank down. Ah well. There is another tip you may want to add though regarding orb farming (as well as souls I guess). If you have unlocked Heaven & Hell, simply do mission 19. If you can get all boss markers straight (Yellow pads take you to boss fights too) you can get around 7k+ orbs in less than 3 minutes due to the bosses dropping loads of orbs. Then just restart before going through door at the end.

im not sure if this has been said but you can also if running low on red orbs to simply get far enough in a mission (i choose 8) and then restart it and continue doing this to get your orbs up high up to the point on the maze area on mission eight i had gotten 4k orbs i restarted the mission a few times to get enough to buy some healing cause i was having trouble with credo but thats me it helped me may help you when you need orbs if your running low :P

As well as the method described by Dan_0904 you can also get large amounts of red orbs on missions 3 and 7 as both have the red orb statues near the beggining. So all you have to do is run to one (use DT as you will get more orbs) and destroy the statue, then restart the level. You will get around 4000-5000 using DT and it will take you about 30 seconds per attempt.

Heaven or Hell mode is unlocked after completing Son of Sparta mode, not Dante Must Die. When Dante Must Die mode is complete, you unlock Hell or Hell mode (different from Heaven or Hell mode), Super Costumes, and art.

Got to edit that. ;)

On Mission 11, near the beginning of the mission, there is a statue you have to get an SSS combo on to break for a blue crystal piece. This is the easiest place to get this hard combo. Just keep using different combos. Vary your moves and never do the same thing back to back. Use the Devil Trigger to if you can. Revving your sword up will help you get there fast too. It will take a little while but once you reach an SSS rank on the statue, you will get the "Received Blue Crystal Piece" screen and the achievement will unlock. If you didn't have the S or SS combo achievements, they will unlock the second you reach each rank.

Of course there is an extremely easy way of doing this too. On Mission 9 there is 2 bianco angelos and 1 alto angelo. If you wait alittle bit, they get into alittle group and start charging up a huge black ball. When they are charging it up, I performed a Streak (RB+up+Y) and out of nowhere they exploded and I got an insta-SSS rank. Pretty neat.

Don't fire until the ball has been launced otherwise you'll just hit one of the angelo's.

You can find some of the items in Missions but your gunna have to spend red orbs to get them all. Everything you can buy with Red Orbs counts as items so this includes: vitality stars, gold orbs, blue orbs, and others. It's gunna take quite a lot of Red Orbs so keep collecting. At the beginning of Mission 3, there is a Red Orb mound to the left of the start. Just destroy the mound, then restart the chapter. You need to buy every thing at the store and collect all of the blue orb fragments, then complete mission 1 with all the items maxed.

Hey i been collecting a lot of orbs to figure this out, but it think when the price of an item reaches a certain amount, it stops increasing...

So on this idea i think i've come up with an idea of how many red orbs you need, but my list is only once the price of an item is maxed. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Vital Star S 5,000 x 30 - 150,000
Vital Star M 10,000 x 30 - 300,000
Vital Star L 20,000 x 30 - 600,000
Devil Star S 15,000 x 10 - 150,000
Devil Star L 20,000 x 10 - 200,000
Holy Water 20,000 x 30 - 600,000

So on this idea you would need 2,000,000 red orbs.

But yea just a theory, check it first then add it if you want.

Oh really? I've been going through each difficulty in order so I haven't replayed any missions from the Mission Select screen yet. I know you could only collect items once in the previous games, but someone mentioned that they respawned in this one. Oh well, don't trust what you hear.

Anyway, here's a link to some pro-level DMC4 bosses and levels, mostly on DMD mode. Just click through the related videos and profiles to find most any boss. This will surely help people rack up big style points and get through the harder difficulty levels.

I've got an easy way to get the Devil Hunter achievements. After you beat Son of Sparda difficulty and unlock Heaven and Hell, where everything even yourself and bosses die in one hit, play until the last level and keep playing it over and over as the ending credits have constantly spawning demons for 90 seconds. I'm not absolutely sure they count for the achievement but I'm willing to bet they do. Either way Heaven and Hell difficulty is by far the best choice for the devil hunter achievements.

If you get 4, your health bar will increase. Search for glowing stars (revive health) and complete Secret Missions (blue crystal pieces) also. Good luck. This mode is actually quite easy considering everything dies in one hit, including yourself.

In this mode i don't think they take 20-45 mins :p About 5-15 minutes because of the one hit kills. And health won't help much either.

Sorry to hear man. There is no tricks/glitches to ANY of these achievements. These are a hard batch the best I can offer is helpful tips. If you read the first sentence in the first post, you would see that it says to post your tips, not bitch about it. This guide isn't even finished bro.

That's a cool response to the harsh post.

Nice guide, there are some tips which, I didn't know so, not useless after all. Very good effort indeed. This is not a typical game with typical achievements to get!

I think this is the most polished game on the next gen platform to date!

i have loved DMC ever since the first one came out. I have heard people questioning the achievements. I love the achievements I think they have done brilliant because it makes you play the game alot. I know I am an achievement whore but if the achivements were finished after 1 playthrough then I probably wouldn't be playing the game alot. The achievements are brilliant because they make you play the game over 5 times. Well done Capcom. They are going to be tricky but its a challenge i'm up for..

I can give a little tip for the killing enemies achievement. Once you unlock heaven or hell mode you can replay some of the missions over and over because everything dies in one hit.

im in level 11 on hell or hell mode... the enemies got the health of Son of Sparda... its not that hard, just the boss fights are really hard...but after a few continues you get an Boss Handicap and he will lose his health faster...

Also on hell or hell mode the enemies have the son of sparda health? do they act the same as on son of sparda too? if so, then It wouldn't be too hard. I thought they had a new difficulty for health - harder than DMD.

Hell or Hell mode is basically Son of Sparda with a four hit limit. It's really not that hard in practice, but if you have played recklessly up to that point, you'll have to learn to be a bit more careful, especially on bosses. You won't have healing items to help you, four hits and you're dead.

Also, DMD is the only difficulty with no Enemy Handicap. From what I've seen though, the "handicap" doesn't seem to do very much besides give enemies a bit less health. It's mainly a hit to your style ranking.

your stats also carry over from devil hunter mode as well at least if u decide to play human mode after like i did, and playing mission 1 on human mode is a much easier way to get an S rank for the achievement, as soon as it starts destroy all the benches grabbing the red orbs and then just keep using the devil bringer on Dante, Nero will grab Dante will break the hold and a lil sowrd fighting sequence goes on and ends with Nero taking out a chunk of Dante's health. Just keep doing that and u got an easy S rank. I was able to collect all the orbs and beat Dante in 44 seconds so thats how i got it.

Its been a while since I got that crystal but if I remember correctly you should be able to get it by using streak then air hike and then if you still don't have it use grab whilst in midair.

Did I read that right? Man that sounds impossible considering your bound to take a cheap hit every now and again. I beat this game on the PS3, (360 was broken) I can't wait to try this out on the 360 I love a challenge.

Its really not as hard as it sounds, you have three gold orbs so really you can be hit more than once. If you lose all the gold orbs you use a continue and have all your gold orbs back. Score doesn't matter so you can use any tactic you choose, and as you will have completed DMD you will also have super Nero/Dante. DMD is harder overall than Hell And Hell.

Don't worry, if you can live through Dante Must Die mode with no items where you can only take like 6 hits max anyway it doesn't seem so bad especially considering that in Hell or Hell mode you can use continues, have a max of 4 hits that reset every continue, the enemies are Son of Sparda difficulty, and can use the super characters since rank doesn't matter.

If you havent already got this orb, just get up onto the platform where you face the orb. Get close to the edge, then streak. My friend did it on his first playthrough with no air hike. Just charge at it ;)

NOTE: For the 'Item Collector' achievement you do not need to max out Holy Water. I only had 9 when I got the achievement and that's the most I have ever had. I'd already seen it somewhere yet I wanted to confirm it for myself just to be sure, so just max out every other item (including Blue Orb fragments) and... achievement unlocked.

It is possible that this is the case the last thing a maxed was holy water, I had everything else done before but I didn't play a mission so couldn't confirm this. Hope it is true as it will save alot of people time if it is.

yea, but you could of had 30 holy water in total, just not at a time. do you have to have 30 vital stars, medium large and small all at the same time as well as the devil stars to get the item collector achievement?

Yeah you have to have all the items at the same time, not just collect 30 of an item then use some and not buy them again. I'd never had more than 9 Holy Water's because I've never bought any from the shop, I just collected the ones you can find in the difficulties which is nowhere near 30.

Achievements do not stack you will have to do all difficulties separately.

Ive got a tip for The achievement

Speak of the devil: 20GS
Beat the game with super nero(dante)

i just figured this out now(i got the achievement 5 mins after beating DMD)
1.Unlock Super characters by Beating DMD
2.Go to heaven and hell mode on the final mission(Im assuming it works with any difficulty)
3.Beat the final level with super nero
4.after getting to the mission complete screen, you will get the achievement

Woo, just completed the 1000. I can definitely confirm you don't need to max Holy Water for the Item Collector achievement. So yeah, I guess I'm now officially qualified to answer any achievement questions.

ok thanks guys, so do we get more orbs in devil hunter mode for defeating enemies or the same as in human mode ? coz u only get 10 more GS for ending the game in devil hunter plus it's kinda hard lol... i just want to end the game once and see what's in the ending not really after the GS..

well just wanted to know that i left some secret missions behind so can they be done later on in the game by replaying those levels again ? would it have ny effect on the levels im playing atm ? like if for eg: i play level 3 again (currently im on level 12) would i have to play then from level 3 onwards 4, 5 etc if i replay level 3 ? thanks

Nah man. You can skip secret missions and come back to them by replaying the mission they are on. I unlocked the "All Secret Missions complete" achievement immediately after beating the last secret mission I needed so maybe you can just quit to main menu after you beat the secret mission. Not really sure...

Does anyone know a quick way to gather Proud Souls? Doing Mission 1 again and again gets dull, and it doesn't even give you that many points. Don't suggest Bloody Palace, I suck too much to complete it.

Playing mission 19 on Dante Must Die, if you get S ranks in all three categories (which is easy), you'll easily earn 10000 + proud souls, you'll get that amount even if you use items and gold orbs. So get through the mission before time runs out (60 minutes for the S), collect orbs from the blue tiles on the dice games, from Echidna's area, and from the columns before the end of the level, and style is easy to get from landing on red squares and from the boss battles (you need a minimum of 20,000 style for an S rank). Use items if you need to and try your best not to use a gold orb (which is easy as you can use items).

For Item Collector you need all blue orbs? Or jus the blue orbs from the store?? Cuz if u need all blue orbs you have to do all secret missions

You can find some of the items in Missions but your gunna have to spend red orbs to get them all. Everything you can buy with Red Orbs counts as items so this includes: vitality stars, gold orbs, blue orbs, and others. It's gunna take quite a lot of Red Orbs so keep collecting. At the beginning of Mission 3, there is a Red Orb mound to the left of the start. Just destroy the mound, then restart the chapter. You need to buy every thing at the store and collect all of the blue orb fragments, then complete mission 1 with all the items maxed. NOTE: You don't need any Holy Water, the achievement appears to unlock without having the max number...

Does that mean i have to do all the secret missions and get those fragments cause i need to do one more, the 5 blocks...

I cant do it!! :'(

Who ever did this video of the boss, hes/shes doing this in Automatic mode so it'll be easy to get any of the S ranks whilst doing it...

If you want to put Automatic On, press A on the level your willing to play, then left or right till says Automatic over the character, then A again to start level

Its the best way to get S Rank for finishing levels and helps towards achievements, correct me if im wrong (Y)

Oh really? I've been going through each difficulty in order so I haven't replayed any missions from the Mission Select screen yet. I know you could only collect items once in the previous games, but someone mentioned that they respawned in this one. Oh well, don't trust what you hear.

Anyway, here's a link to some pro-level DMC4 bosses and levels, mostly on DMD mode. Just click through the related videos and profiles to find most any boss. This will surely help people rack up big style points and get through the harder difficulty levels.

Another good place is to go to Mission 6 on Human mode. During the fight with Agnus, infinite Gladiuses appear until you destroy the glass. Instead of throwing the Gladiuses, snatch them, and quickly kill them. Repeat this to your heart's content, and then finish the level.

This is annoying me...

Does anyone actually know if this does work cause ive done it 6 times for a good 40 mins a time, i just want to know if it works or if ive just wasted all sh!t load of time...

I don't get something. There are people on the leaderboard who have around 300 GS from this game, but both have Proud Millionaire and made 4 or 47 million pts on Mission 11, how is that even possible. Neither has beaten Son OF Sparda or DMD and got Proud Millionaire and millions of point on Mission 11 what the hell?

just letting u know that the combo you said in the guide didn't work for me(rb+y+up)
what worked for me was rb+y+down,(high roller). dunno if its been said else where couldnt be bothered to look.

are you talking about the proud millionaire one? if you are then streak can be used to knock back the fireball but it is hard to time correctly as Nero does a dash before hand best way is to just charge shot it (any charge level)
