Speed Run Guide (great for Conversationalist)

Using the following maps, my speed run took me just a little over 6 hours (including cutscenes)

These maps show the rough location of each mission, so that following these will allow you to play through the game without climbing any View Points (except that one in the Kingdom of course). I know these maps aren't the greatest since I used Paint but they work nonetheless.

As indicated on the Jerusalem map:

Eavesdropping missions
Informer missions
Interrogation missions
Pickpocket missions

Since you only have to do 2 or 3 investigations, you can go the whole game without doing a single Informer mission (my least favorite, probably because I hate time constraints). Easiest ones are Eavesdropping and Pickpocket, Interrogation being really easy too (if you're patient) so I suggest the former two if you really want to get it done quickly.

Tips
*Map out the order of the missions: do the one closest to the entrance to the city, then the one furthest from the Bureau, then the one closest to the Bureau.
*You don't have to actually go to the Bureau before you start the missions, even though Al Mualim says otherwise.
*You will also have to locate the Bureau (the first time) using these maps (because you won't be doing view points) but after that, they will always be on your map.
*These maps give rough locations, so using your Eagle Vision is recommended if you're having trouble finding the mission. The people you are looking for will be white.

These maps were taken from http://www.assassinscreed-maps.com/Maps.htm and assembled together with the mission locations by me. That site is also really good if you want to find the flags/Templars but I'm sure everyone around here is already aware of the site.

Hahaha, me too, and the ironic thing is I started over thinking I missed a conversation, but on my second playthrough, I thought there WAS no conversation, so I kept playing. So two playthroughs and no achievement. I know, I iz smahrt.

Luckily I got both Hungerer of Knowledge and Conversationalist on my 2nd go, so there is no need for me to use them again.

Now back to Damascus to find my 3 missing flags........

Nope. Some how I managed to get the conversationalist achievement. I was literally like this guy when it popped up > :eek: I applaud people playing through just for one achievement though, I wouldn't have the patience.

I think I've been keeping up with all the conversations and glitches. This will definately help if I have missed something. I sure don't want to go through it again! I may have to b/c I killed a citizen by accident (well, not really) and I think I didn't have a full DNA bar when I chased down Talal (Slave Trader of Jerusalem). It was very late at night and I wasn't thinking of that. :( I'm probably only 1/3 way though this thing anyway. Going too slow. Again, thanks for the info and it will help all who want to speed through it... if that is possible.

Damn, job well done. I thought I did a good enough job keeping up with the conversations but after a while I had a bad feeling that I might have missed one early on and sure enough I did. I'll probably come back to it later this summer after collecting all the flags and killing all the templars. I don't think I could take two playthroughs back to back even with this guide. But once again, excellent job, it'll make the second playthrough a whole lot less painful.

2nd playthrough - achievement playthrough, everything but Conversationalist :P
3rd - everything, but the game glitched so i got stuck in the animus before the last conversation

This guide was just brilliant. As well as missing out on the conversation in mem block 1, I only had managed to get 58 templars and 99 of King Richard's flags, so I was forced to repeat the game.

Dude, thank you so much for this. My game got erased somehow (I'm thinkin' my little sister) and I had to get all the areas unlocked again to be able to get all the flags and templars. This saved me a ton of time, very handy.

Like I said, it took me about 6 and a half hours. If I weren't forced to watch cutscenes, it would have been a lot less. However, I didn't keep track of the amount of time the cutscenes took, I just remember thinking "damn, just let me play already"

OMG Thank you! I had missed conversationalist the first time through and was dreading the fact that I was going to have to trek the game a second time (not that it's a bad game)
