I just got a new console and as per none of the xbla games work offline so i phoned up customer support today and got through in about 10 seconds :drunk they then said someone will phone back in 2-3 days with a code to sort the DRM. Anyone know if they just give points or codes for each game?? Not sure how else they can do it. Though she kinda made it sound like the list of games on my tag would transfer from one console serial to another. Anyone had this before? How is it done? Would love points to get some different games lol

I'd also like an answer ASAP. My second console just had to be sent in because of the three red lights, so I'll have to try and do this when I get my new console.

They give you a code. I deleted Hexic once by accident and they gave me a code to download it again...although they weren't too pleased. :p

So do they check your profile to make sure you purchased the game, or do you just tell them (hehe)?

They check, since they confirmed all my purchased games...

All data of what you have bought is actually saved onto your profile not your console.
When my brother got his elite he just went to marketplace and downloaded all the games he had again.

Yes, but there is some type of glitch that doesn't allow XBLA games to be played offline.

I remember reading this and then after getting RRoD I can't play my arcade games I had from earlier offline. Not a big problem anymore since I'm able to be connected for Live most of the time now and don't play arcade games as much. Still a problem that should be addressed and to make the process easier.

You should try calling in like the OP did. Maybe you'll have some success too.

It's not a glitch. That was done on purpose, so you can't buy a game, then give it to other people.

I bought a new console cuz my last one was rrod'd...and I talked to 3 different people for a total of 2.5 hours and they said that the only way they can transfer the licenses is if you had sent in your old console to be fixed and the licenses would be transfered to the new (refurb) they send you back...other then that...they don't do the points/code thing anymore...apparently that was their old policy and it's been retracted...I'm furious as I bought a box with hdmi and there's no other option to transfer licenses...apparently if I buy 120gb it might work (says ms reps) but it's not 100%...
I hate them..

I hope it is only 2-3 days for you. My console died in Sept 2007 and I am still waiting for my code, or points.
