does anyone know of a solution?

My drive won't stay closed! I press the button to close the drive, it closes then reopens - even if its empty! If I turn the power off, that prompts the drive to close, the power light goes out, then the drive opens up again, but the unit stays off....WTF!!??!!

Waaaaaaaak

Try turning it off, letting it close, then quickly unplugging it. See what happens when u next turn it on.

(What the hell do you do to your 360s?)

Yea I'm wondering what you did to it to make it do that, because that is the first time I've heard of that problem.

You guys are just a great big barrel of laughs.....

Anyways, I ended up calling Microsoft and I gotta ship the unit back to them:( :( :( . Odd thing for me is that they told to ship it back to them (in their prepaid packaging) without the harddrive (thank God!!!) and without the faceplate (WTF?) ... Without the faceplate???? I don't have a custom plate.... Thought that was standard equipment....

At least they're covering the repair. I'm trying to get wifey to agree to get a second unit for the kids... maybe too much opening and closing between all of us (3kids & me) Hope the turn around time won't be too long.

Would you believe it happened again!!!!

So I get up on emergence day and one of the little ones tells me the drive won't stay closed.....again. WTF! I hit the roof! Same exact thing! Now its happening to the replacement unit that they sent me (which is an older unit). I call M$ and explain the problem. Of course the person I'm talking to has a certain tone while taking the info - a certain 'WTF are you doing to your 360' kind of tone. Anyways, after being put on with the supervisor, they're gonna cover the repair - again! Yipee! But I gotta pay to ship to them. They said it would take about a week after the receive it. What sucks is that I have to peel off my GoW skins and faceplate.

Needless to say I ripped into one of the kids. It happen to 'break' twice, the same way, with the same kid! Thank God we do have a second unit in the house.

Do you think he was trying to pry it open instead of opening it?

God I hope not. I didn't notice any markings on the drive door at all, but I'm sure if I call M$ yet again with the same prob then they'll be like......:ass
