Yes. I have it on now. I forgot mainly how to do it, but I know it involves going to the system blade and going into an option and you can switch it. I also have it set to downloads continue when xbox 360 is powered down.

Thats not what he is talking about he is talking about when you are in the Dashboard and you put in a game to have it not start automatically.
I do not know how to do that...it bugs me sometimes also.

Count me with that too, LOL. My only solution is open the disc tray, put the game in it, then go sit down, do what you want, then when you're ready to play just hit "close disc tray"

that's what i usually do. just wondering if anyone knew a way around it. you would think this would be an easy solution with a firmware update. i like how with the Wii you pop in a disc and go to the game channel when you wanna play

What i do is put the game in let it load a little then press the guide button then Y and your back at the dashboard and the game is in the drive.
Hope this helps.

I usually leave the tray open until I am ready to play the game and then I'll just hit the close tray button. I don't know of a way to keep the game from playing if you swith the game.
I have my xbox set to stay on the dashboard when I first turn it on, but not after I change the game for a different one.

How about inserting the Game when you're ready to play? Silly humans.:p
On a serious note, there's no way of stopping the game from loading after you insert it into the disc tray.
