The best game-based movie, to me, is Stay Alive. Its so awesome, and its got such good gamer-things, since they had a gamer producer.

I also really like Final Fantasy Advent Children, its so awesome.

Second of all, you have a horrible taste in movies if you thought Stay Alive was good. I'm sorry, but you watch shitty movies.

There really isn't a great one, but the LEAST crappy one was probably the first RE movie.

There's some memorable ones, and then there are some bad ones... By bad ones, I mean anything directed by Uwe Boll.

Super Mario Bros.
Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat Annihilation
Street Fighter

That's for what games you'd like to see made into movies...

:whs That's exactly what I would've said. There's no good game-to-film movies, but the best would probably be Resident Evil. ;)

I liked silent hill - the movie

I think Silent Hill is the best game based movie, it's true to the game and it has a true "wtf" Silent Hill ending.

I agree with you 100%

The Resident Evil movies don't stick to the games/novels that were made, they're just for making big bucks, all of them were horrible in my oppinion. :(

I think game-based movies make for great comedies. Other then that, they really suck.

Out of the ones I've seen, probably Tomb Raider or Resident Evil. The Mortal Kombat ones are also kind of entertaining, in a cheesy way.

Tomb Raider, but purely in a cheeseball way (or in a drool over Angelina way).

Agreed. Silent Hill was about the only one I could stomach. Resident Evil was garbage in my opinion. The second one wasn't too bad. At least it had Nemesis in it. They just strayed too far from the original plot for me to be interested.

The first Resident Evil was the best one. And Nemesis in the 2nd didn't even look like Nemesis in the game, it was just too far off. I look at the movies more as just movies that the director made, not movies that were inspired from a video game. I think they went that route and that's fine by me.

Actually Nemesis did look like Nemesis. I thought they did a decent job.

SH was okay but I could NEVER understand why they cast a Woman in Harry's role of SH1. Is it not believable that a Father would go thru hell to look for his daughter? They did a decent job of keeping most of the game ideas but I always wondered what made them decide to do that.

I would say the following were the best in my book:

1. Resident Evil (1st one)

2. Mortal Kombat (1st one)

3. Mario Brothers

4. Silent Hill

5. Final Fantasy: Advent Children

There really isn't a whole lot of good game movies and seeing a great one hit the screens now a days is pretty damn rare.

Actually, it wasn't really based on the first Silent Hill, since after all, it never had pyramid head in it, and they chose the mom because of many reasons, most likely the mom being the one who brought her into this world, it's her role to watch her/look after her and protect her? :O

I think Bloodrayne was probably one of the worst ones actually.

I liked ....

Alone in the Dark
Wing Commander (while the weapons were vastly different than they are in the game it had that "we're getting our asses kicked by giant cats feel to it more so than the games ever did though the actual costumes for the Kilrathi were shitty)
RE series, they're actually what made me go out and buy my first RE game (which I actually hated and traded to Gamestop awhile back)
Doom

Actually I've pretty much liked all the video game based movies even Street Fighter, Super Mario Bros, Double Dragon etc. Never seen Stay Alive though, didn't know that was based on a game.

Edit: yay I'm a peon now, I could've just looked at my role at work and figured that out haha.

Yes YEs Yes, Finally someone who agrees with me, They really did suck the big one and like you said all they wanted was a buck off the name, the only dicent one was re2 and only because the tyrant actually looked cool in my opionion from a gamer stand point, and Jill was really hot. but the plots were retarted and so was everything else.

What Have you played RE Nemesis from the movie was dead on. It was kinda creepy how they did a good job with it. I have played every RE game to date and that looks like nemesis. But I could see where you was thrown off at first I was but when you truly look at him its dead on.

I liked the first Mortal Kombat movie the best, mainly because they kept it an action movie, without a bunch of campy, crappy stuff like in the sequel or in Street Fighter: The Movie.

Have to say that there hasn't been a single movie made from a video game yet that has been worth watching twice, let alone purchasing. Call me a chump but I'm still crossing my fingers and hoping that the World of Warcraft movie gets it right. It's being made by the same people that made 300 after all.

Dude, enough. Quit your fucking crying. No one wants to hear it. I wasn't flaming him, I was saying it's a bad movie. Quit going around and being such a little kid about shit. Quit taking everything to the heart.
