Will GTA 4 be banned in Certain Countries?
The reason i ask is because i live in Dubai (middle east) and we had call of duty 4 banned because of the conflict against the muslims and terrorist.
If anyone knows whether GTA 4 will be banned for any reason, please let me know.
My friend bravely snuck call of duty 4 through customs at the airport and we could face deportation if caught playing it HA HA. we even had to tweak the wireless router to let us play online.

Be careful no video game is worth extreme punishment. My guess is that it will most likely be banned in a lot of places. Everyone loves to hate on rockstar.

depends on how the language, violent, and sex is...but by judging by San Andreas, i cannot imagine rockstar steering away from their raunchy attitude

If it gets banned in UK, I'm moving to some other place where it's not banned. :D:D

Being a GTA, it is a no-brainer it will be banned in many countries.
Doesn't Germany have something against 'violent' games? I'm not sure GTA would be extreme enough to be banned because of 'violent' content though, kill a few hookers, speak with a silly accent and find some hidden packages. None of those are really all that bad.
With all of the anti-GTA propaganda in Americatown I wouldn't be suprised if it was banned there.

it probably wont be man, COD 4 got banned for other reasons, because ur in the middle east and it conflicts with political crap, but it wont be banned for political reasons, but maybe for 2 violent or something, seeing as how the san andreas and the other ones got banned in some places.
Did Manhunt and other GTA's get banned?
Manhunt 2 was banned in England methinks, both were banned in Germany too (too much blood). Though I don't remember any GTA games being banned anywhere except for Australia, fairly sure they didn't get one of the recent games in the series.

GTA 3 got banned here after it's release because of the feature where u could pick up prostitutes. It got re-released a few months later with that feature gone.
Vice City and San Andreas both came out here as normal, no missing features.

Well, there are a lot of countries with different views on everything. We can't really blame them since it is their belief after all. Well, to answer your question, we may not know for now until the release date. Hopefully it doesn't get that much controversy.
Oh, just forgot. People love controversies... lol!

I reckon it will be banned in Australia again, I'm sure Manhunt did also but that was like a week after it's release and I got it day after launch.
Hopefully it gets released first and then banned a week or so later, if not there is other ways around it. ;)

Alot of it is about politics. Hopefully, the politicians will focus on what they do best: make something usually simple become complicated. Meanwhile, we can play our video games in peace no matter where we are.

Well you could always pray they do what they did on Saints Row and make 2 different ones. I dont think they will, but ya never know.( Thats crazy about the COD4 thing. That game was good, but not good enough for me to get in deep trouble over)

The only reason GTA III got banned here was because they didn't show the game to the AUS committee for games or something and just tried to sell it.
The next 2 games in the series were shown for approval first and did not get banned at all.

There's always eBay! Be quick, be swift, be certain to get your game even if it reaches "Banned" status!
Nah, I doubt the U.S. will ahve it banned. I'd bet big money on it.

why is this game mature. who cares, banning games make's more money I'd say. If you 18 and up play what ever you want. games don't kill people. people who shouldn't play video games kill people.
