Actually about 15 minutes after I read this I did it myself. I had gotten caught on on another players' katamari on the House level and did a burst to get off of him and in mid air I held down on both analogs and fell under the map for about 2 seconds before plopping onto the main area again. Guess it's pretty common?

I had this happen to me too. While I was quite small, I rolled up the human ladder to where the band is playing on the roof. I went up further to where the Santa Clauses usually are to see if there was anything interesting. When I tried to roll sideways to the other roof, I dropped into the gap between roofs, got stuck for a second, and then suddenly dropped down completely out of the level. I fell into a white abyss for about 5-10 seconds before I was reset in the river with the message from the king.

I've had the same thing happen to me, but it was in a single player game. I believe it was on the Oasis Cafe level. I went outside, tried to go between the sand castle and the wall, and I magically went down the level. I popped back up in a few seconds with the king giving the unknown phenomenon talk.
