Moscow's a pain *spoilers*

Mission 8 where you have to defend red square, I can't seem to beat this level. I get up to the part with the artillery, use it to wipe out the convoy of tanks and armoured cars off in the distance, but then when I try to take out the rest of the planes, the bar depletes and I fail the mission. This happens to me every single time.

Also my last checkpoint is when they are dropping down armoured cars and tanks, and the bar just hits yellow. Is there any tips for beating this level? This seems to be a really hard mission right now and I just want it over with and keep going, because I'm assuming the rest of the missions are probably easier.

I know what you mean. What worked for me last night, third try maybe, is first of all to not worry too much about the fighters (orange, secondary targets) and instead stay near the Red Square "Star" and keep going to the next primary targets (will either be ground targets or the Stuka & JU188 bombers). Your tailgunner will handle the fighters and thus pick up most of the Extra Ammo you'll need.

Also make sure your wingman is in "attack" mode, and keep an eye out for when the ME321's start coming in and go after the parachutes.

Finally, once the rocket barrages become available, use them as much as possible on the densest areas of enemy concentration. When I finished that primary objective, Red Square only had a sliver of health.

p.s. same sort of thing goes later when you need to take out the German defenses along the river--don't worry about secondary targets, just focus on the primaries and use the "X" button rocket barrages as much as possible.

On the plus side, when I finally finished this level (only a Veteran rating), my tail gunner had racked up enough kills--without my ever purposely using him--to get the "Well Covered" achievement as well.

Use the artillery as much as you can to take out most of the enemy units. When you have to take out the big gun fly around it until it opens. Equip your plane with rockets. Once the door opens to nail the gun with your rockets until it is dead. Shoot down extra ammo planes and enemies incase you run low on ammo. If you have any more questions let me know ill try to help.
