It is very solid arcade jet combat action. The multiplayer isn't what I would have hoped but still fun. The story and themes are very eastern but it blows the cockpit of its competition (over g). If you feel the need for a jet combat game then this is the only way to go.

I found it very good.Missions are quiet easy even on normal. Its easier than blazing angles online is ok bit boring its definalty worth a go but i would just rent it.

In the end it comes down to what you want or like because chances are its different than what someone else likes. When in doubt give it a rent.

I did not really like the single player. Missions are allright but when you die savepoints are way back. That can get really irritating. But Il ove the Online MP if you are into dogfights this is the game. It is really cool to sneak up behind someone and blast his "behind" of :-)

I'm the opposite, actually. I love the single player thus far, just not on the lower difficulty settings. If you're playing on anything below hard, the campaign is pretty boring. I haven't tried the online multiplayer yet, I'm working on getting all the single player achievements first. (Plus, I'm waiting for my friends to pick up the game...)

It's terrible. Don't pick it up. Waste of time.

Kidding. But, I do have problems with them having so few planes and a lack of missions compared to The Unsung War. There are no MiGs or anything like that in this one. Other than that it's a straight-up Ace Combat game. Go download yourself the theme from Top Gun and Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins and give this game a rent. Crank those tunes up when you're whooping ass!

...but it blows the cockpit of its competition (over g).

There is no competition. Although both flight "sims", they're two totally different games. Over G is very realistic. I think a lot of people don't understand this and that's why they don't like it. Different missiles and fuel amount change your mobility, where-as in Ace Combat you get 400+ missiles and some specials.

I'm not liking it so far...I'm having a really tough time even on easy, I guess I'm just retarded about flying games, although I had no trouble with Blazing Angels. One thing that seems stupid is it's supposed to be this awesome dogfighting game and all you ever seem to do is shoot tanks and buildings on the ground. Of course, whenever there are planes all they do is kill me, so maybe that's OK.

I just picked this up today, dont like it atall. I thought Blazing Angels was ok and Over G was great and I would say Flying sims are my best strength when it comes to games.

I just cant stand how boring this game is, I did the first 3 missions then could not do any more due to the sheer repetition.

Im taking it back asap (Although I will give online a chance).

Over G was far superior to this IMO but most people will disagree.

I dont even think its worth a rent.

There aren't that many flight sims out there. This is one of the best. Over G is good too. Just more reaslistic!

The boringness is wearing on me too...that and the fact the missions are so long without any kind of checkpoints (unless you somehow manage to clear their mysterious "operations"), so you'll fly around for 1/2 an hour, die, then get to start all over again.

And why does it feel like the pace is so slow? Aren't I flying faster than sound? It feels like I could get out and walk faster.

Look straight down at the ground when you're 200 feet above it going 1500mph. Better yet. Go 4 feet above the ground at 15-1600mph. That's fun. Any lower than 4 and you'll crash into the ground. Operations aren't mysterious. Longest ones I find are B and C in mission 13. Takes 3 min tops. Press start, then LB or RB to select an operation if you're having troubles locating/differentiating the targets/enemies within each operation from other operations.

The missions are long but there are Checkpoints after completing each and every operation. I loved the game and just got bored after unlocking all medals, assault records, planes and paint schemes.

But I have to admit that AC6 is a LOT easier compared to AC0 or AC4. The Nimbus as a superweapon is not a threat at all... compared to the other versions' superweapons where there are altitude restrictions and such.

I enjoyed the game. I always wanted to be a fighter pilot, but was unable to. This game is the closest thing someone is going to get to fling a F-16 Fighting Falcon other than joining the armed forces. The achievements are hard to get such as the all medals achievement. Its not hard to get it just takes way too long to get.

I might give this game a whirl. How is playing with the actual Joystick instead of the regular controller?
