Just a new overhaul. Been trying out a new style with band stocks.
Armor For Sleep

I think I like the Armor For Sleep one more overall, but I like how the Thrice one looks in comparison to the stock use.
Constructive criticism? Link to tutorials that are the bomb? Etc? Question mark? Excessive post?
:woop:
So here's what I just finished, pretty much my first non-Paint sig. I did the renders myself, and I think they look pretty good.
I really think I could improve background and border-wise, so it'd be great to get some constructive criticism, tips, and other advise.
If anyone has pointers for using Gimp, I'm more than happy to learn.
Enough talking:

The cropping seems a little off...

I think your canvas size seems a little square..

Peace Gimp. And I have looked at a few of the tutorials in the thread, one was what I used to learn how to render the Puss In Boots pictures. Very helpful.
@drno: What about it specifically?
@custom: The render? I didn't feather it at all, and the background probably doesn't help it look better either.
@Shadow: Yeah, I wasn't concerned with the shape since I was just getting a feel for the program. I thought it looked a bit weird also.
Thanks for the responses.
For high quality pictures, you should really try photoshop
GIMP is good, but there isn't enough resources for it on the net

That way I don't buy it and end up not using it.
Any suggestions for what I've got at the moment?

Well when I look at it I see this

Is the white stuff around the renders supposed to be there. Seems like a crap crop job or something to me if they are supposed to be.

Been working on a Calvin and Hobbes gamercard for the past two days, and I like the results.
I just noticed a small messup on my part, but it's really nothing. :p
Opinions?

Is it the one in your sig? If it is, it looks good and is a great gamercard.

Too bad it's down right now. :(
Thanks, I like your stuff too.

The second sig is definitely better. It shows a lot of improvement and isn't so 'contained'.
The only problem with it is the font edges. They're a bit messy.
