View Full Version : Can you hook the 360 up to a notebook PC?

I'm looking into buying a notebook PC within the next few days, and am set on getting a system that will allow me to play my 360 on the monitor. I'm looking to spend about $1200 US, and have yet to find a laptop with a VGA or component input anywhere near this range. I wouldn't mind buying an external adapter to convert the signal to USB or firewire, but I'm sceptical of spending $200 to $400 on said adapters given that everything I've seen thus far is either of a wierd brand or too large to be portable. Does anyone know of an alternative method to make this connection while retaining video quality, or know where I can get a notebook with this function at a reasonable price? This is my first time posting here, and any advice would be genuinely appreciated!

I second TigerDirect. I've used them for years and I've never had a problem with them.

I've went to a bunch of stores, including Best Buy... all sales associates were clueless and a one guy even tried to convince me that the optical audio output on the 360 HD cables was actually a firewire output! The only place I went that actually had a notebook with a VGA input was Office Depot ($2300). Anyone actually have their 360 on a laptop?

There are cables that convert a regular monitor jack so you can put your 360 on it.

I am afraid not mate, but if you work something out that allows this to happen let me know. I would be very interested. Cheers.
