Question About The Astronomic Katamari Achievement

Okay, so I was playing the Chateau stage and managed to get 1500000km for my katamari size, but the achievement didn't show up as fullfilled.

What stage do I have to accomplish this on? It says something about "xxx" on the achievment guide, but I thought I had all the DLC stages :confused:

With the DLC stages downloaded, you will have many more stars in the sky (after playing them a few times, of course), then you can just replay Schloss Cosmos and you should be able to get large enough for this.

Well...FYI if you play Schloss on Eternal Mode it doesn't count. There's about an hour or so wasted of my time between these two failures...

I guess you have to make it on normal mode.. I've just tried to roll my katamari in Eternal, got the required size, and it didn't worked.


So you have to do the katamari big enough, in enough time, without rolling the blackhole? Pain. :(

Actually the Black Hole is what pushed me over 150. Get at least 137 or more, then grab the hole.

What I suggest is immediatly getting everything around/near the black hole when you're smallest in space so that way you can focus on everything further from it. Then you save the black hole for last which will push you over 150.

but is it possible without the downloaded stages? ive been working on my 200 requests and i figure if i play each level ten times then there will be alot more stars in the sky for me to pick up, but will it be enough or must i download all the stages, cuz im poor right now :(

I haven't been able to set the achievement without the DLC. And even with playing each DLC level once I still couldn't get it. I needed to play then a few times so I would assume you can't without the DLC, but I'm not positive.

I was too lazy to try it out, but play the level where you make the sun a few times since it's one of the largest items in space.

The closest I've gotten so far is 1,498,***. So freaking close! I accidently rolled up both the King and the blackhole at the same time. I've been too annoyed to try it again yet.

This achievement is not possible without the DLC. Even if you get over 150 without the DLC, it won't unlock.

I keep getting sucked into the black hole before I can get to 1,500,000. :( Closest was like 1,490,000.

I know how you guys feel, I've gotten 1,498,xxx once or twice.

If you're having trouble just replay the regular levels to add more planets for you to pick up. Replaying the levels where you roll either Jupiter or the Sun are good ones.

Another little hint of advice is to make sure you roll up the King's rainbow, onto his back, and pick up all those stars before you get too big. I accidentally picked him up once and I was unable to reach a bunch of those stars.

Ok I just got the achievement on Chateau Notre Desir which is much much easier than Schloss Cosmos because the black hole here does not actually suck you in. It just sits there quietly.

You'll need:
- To play Chateau on Normal
- Have purchased all the DLC levels
- Lots of planets to roll up
- To get into space and roll up the king and the queen and the black hole
- To get a katamari over 1,500,000km (duh)

I just did this myself and I was surprised because the other achievements thread said it couldn't be done. YMMV. If it makes any difference, I had collected a whole crapload of memories that gave me 98 points at the end of the level.

Same here, I also just grabbed the achievement on Chateau Notre Desir. There is no time limit and you can pick up the black hole without ending the level, much easier this way I think. I was at 148,xxx something the last time I tried Schloss Cosmos and I got too close to the blackhole and picked it up.

What difference takes it to play a level lot of times. I got like 1st Venus blabla when i play it a lot times on Normal mode i always get 1st Venus too. When i do the Sun stage do i get 1st 2nd 3rd suns?? Because i tried notre and only get to like 1.408... so still missing 82 :)

Any help?

Edit: I've seen that there is Co-Op for 3 Planets. I thought it would be online, because i wanted to save online for the last ^^ Maybe this will push me to the 1,5.... still pls answer my question how do i get 2nd 3rd planets thx folks :D

Make sure that when you end the stage by pressing X, you go back to the Princedom. You cannot get the achievement if the King does not give you an evaluation!

just tried it again, and still no achievement. i guess i'll just keep trying on schloss cosmos, i keep running out of time though! oh well.

My theory is that you can get it on Chateau, but you also have to make a better katamari (more memories) than your previous best in order to have it recognize and save it. Probably some quirk since you can end the level whenever. I'll keep working on this and report back. I'm currently at ~1700 memories, so if I can get that higher, I'll keep rolling and get it over 1.5 mil, otherwise I'll just restart the level.

Quite possible, as I was intentionally doing a better job when I went for the achievement.

When I get back to Beautiful Katamari I'll have to try that as well. I didn't get that many memories in the first place so getting a better one shouldn't be that much of a problem. It makes sense, though. Why would the original planet with MORE memories be destroyed for a bigger planet with LESS memories.

Wow, I didn't realize that this achievment would ned up being such a bad ass.

I picked the game up today and had to force myself to go to sleep because I'm getting obsessed with it just like I did Katamari Damacy.

Ok, this seems to be exactly the case. I did the stage again, this time picked up 2500+ memories, and went until my katamari hit 1.51 million km. Achievement popped after getting my score.

So in conclusion, you can get the achievement on the Chateau level, but you have to exceed your previous best score for it to register as a new katamari.

Do I have to buy all of the DLC to get the achievement or can I just buy one or two of the levels and still get it.
