Xbox Live Gamertag Suggestions for n00bs

Whether it's on aim/forums/xbl i always get asked,"Shots..im changing my gamertag, what should it be?" Frankly, idc but i like to help people out once in a while. Soo...here are my suggestions for picking a new gamertag.

1) No Numbers!!!like me, a lot of other people dont like more then 3 numbers in their name..it does get annoying, which is why i try to avoid using them at all.
It also gets hard to read your Id thingy on halo3 when your close cause it goes back and forth and it mixes you up.

2) Pick something you want to be called. ie: if you gamertag is xXBAMFXx, do you really want people trying to pronounce your name all the time? it really sucks. ive learned that from experience. lol

3)Try to keep it short and simple. if you can..pick one word, maybe a short adjective before it if you really want. but when your about to get assassinated or sniped in halo...do you really want someone saying "Watch out The Inferior Cockpushup!!!" by the time he gets to cock, you'll be dead.

4)Pimp it out! now if you have your word, unless you made it up, it is most likely taken. ie: if your word is Bullets...just bullets would be taken. you could try:
o BuLLeTs o
ll Bullets ll
hXc Bullets (like me =])

or you can put 2-3 letters after to represent something like a clan.ie:
BuLLeTs ESO
oBuLLeTs GT
etc.etc.

5)Using numbers so you can use something thats taken. Yeah i know, oldest trick in the book. but for example: Say you want "xCHaOTiC" but thats taken...maybe you can change the O to a zero"xCHa0TiC". (but dont try with that one because i also learned that from experience, lolz)or you could use step 4 and change 1 of the ll to and i etc.etc.


So yeah, i hope that helps someone. if you have more suggestions, feel free to post.;)

Its a good idea, but most people don't something like: xxx1pwnn00bzxxx or 4m4z1ngk1ll4 because you can't understand what the hell they mean! If you wan't to change your GT and you don;t know what to change it to, than wait and come up with it yourself, don;t let others come up with it for you... If you do have people help, give them choices for them to pick...

And, personally, I find the 'x360a' a bit cheesy. I've been in a bunch of clans, teams and the like and I always thought changing the name was a bit weird. But don't hold it against me, I'm still a good person! :D

To the topic at hand. I think it's kind of sad that people can't use original gamertags anymore. And the ones with numbers and letters and crap all over do get quite annoying. I think a simple name that has something to do with you is good, just add a little flare with some light 1337-speech.

More ideas for Gamertags:
- Contradictory words: e.g. Heavy Feather
- Maybe put in your hobby, I see a lot of people with names like: SoccerBoy etc.
