Question for any Xbox 360 gamer

What if I game you really can't wait for comes out

for example:
Gears of War 2
Devil May Cry 4
GTA IV
Resident Evil 5
(or any other game)

and this game is really good. Well, you find out there are NO achievements or gamerscore.

How long would you play it? Would you play it at all?

I would for Resident Evil 5. :)

I think that just about everybody would play a game they've been waiting for with or without achievements. Most people on this site have been gaming for years without achievements, I see no reason that anyone would suddenly stop gaming just because they couldn't get what are, lets face it, meaningless ego boosting points.

With the systeme of achievement now in place, i really hope they don't go back and choose to not use it on next gen systeme, i would not see myself without it...

BUT of course i had been gaming before and would still do it if it had no achievement, i finished gears 1250 Gs a long time ago and still play it because its fun, COD4 have no online achievement, wich i think is disapointing, but im still having a lot of fun playing it.

Its just that before that systeme, i was more the kind of guy to go the easy way, doing a game on easy or such, and the bonus had to be REALLY interesting for me to do it on highter difficulty, or the game to be faboulous. With achievement, i will try harder cause i want them.

And its benefit. Im now doing Jericho, and i started right away on hard because if you do it on easy you get like 100 GS or so...over the half of the game score is playing in hard. And now that im doing it, im happy they put GS that way, cause its not hard at all, considering how the game is done, having 6 guys most of the time and the only way to "die" is having all your members down(but you can imediately revive them as soon as they down) well it make the gun kinda easy, so i would say hard is the way this game is supose to be played, if you want a little challenge. Honestly the only time i die is when there are split and i have only 3 or 1 character, wich happen rarely, specially one character, from where i am now, it happened one time only.

Having the achievement systeme also make me try different guns in online, usually i hate snipers in games, and i would have probably never try the sniper in gears if there was no GS, but because of that i practiced and bacame good and now i LOVE sniper(but only in gears, still suck in COD and other games)

Anyways, I would most definitely play Grand Theft Auto 4. I played the hell out of San Andreas and there were no achievements in that.

I woundnt care if it had achievements or not I'd still buy the games I like the look of. On the other hand I would never of bought certain games in my collection if it wasnt for the achievements.

There were good games before achievements, they are an added bonus not the main reason we play games.

I'm not sure whether they are just presuming that because sales have increased this generation of consoles, or whether there is some evidence of that. But the fact that Sony are working hard to include them just shows how they have become a part of gaming.

And for the question.... GTA IV.... Achievements or not, I'm playing that baby!!

The Achievement/Gamerscore system is sure here to stay. M$ would never flush away their Money Making idea. I truly do believe that this genius system helps sell games.

If a game I thought was Great, I would buy it regardless if it had Achievements or not.;)

This is so true i have brought so many shite games just for achievements well jus look at how many people play Halo 3, and the game is so shit it must just be for achievements. Tobe honest if there werent achievements i would have sold my 360 ages ago coz im so bored of it now, i used to get 1000 GS atleast in a week but i havent even got 1000 GS in the last month.

They havent released any good games for ages and i think ill never gat the fun of the 360 back ever.

But microsoft have made a good £500-£1000 extra out of me due to achievements so well done to them, im just a mug who fell for it all.

I don't think that can ever happen, I'm pretty sure a game is required to have 5 achievements at the least. Plus with the guidelines they have in place now, it has to have 1000 gamerscore attainable without paying for extra content. To answer the question though, I would play all of the games that I like, achievements or not.

I am looking forward to "Left 4 Dead".
Based off the half-line 2 engine is basically surrounds 4 players attempting to escape zombie infested cities, towns.

With 4 players connected I feel as though this should be a great get-together game in which everyone can enjoy some intense thrilling action.

I have this reserved and cannot wait to pick it up later this 1st quarter.
